  1. well, I'm sure you reading the Washington Post online but this is the DC free paper My link which has a good calendar. Welcome to DC.
  2. Urubu is another that I like more with each listen as well as Jobim.
  3. It was an early digital release on Denon, IIRC, and one of the first DDDs I purchased. I saw this group at Blues Alley in DC playing a number of tracks from this cd and remember really enjoying the set.
  4. One of the greats is gone. I'm just glad I saw him perform several times, always at the highest level.
  5. Two sellers are offering it at a great price. Unfortunately, they don't ship to the U.S. Sorry to see they don't ship to US. UKers should jump on this (£31.99 at this moment, tracking down every day...). The principal difference between the euromosaic and the regular is that these sets are unnumbered, the product code on the spine is different, there is a back cover information sheet describing the contents, and... the booklet paper is maybe a bit shinier.... Works out under £5 per disk at this price. I emailed the seller and they will ship to the US for additional 15 quid.
  6. now posting on the hoffman board
  7. New and sealed in box mosaic sent it in . I looked around pricewise and $170 shipped anywhere in the continental US seems fair (outside the US, pm me to discuss). Paypal (fee on me so please pay from BANK ACCOUNT!!) or USPS money order. Any DC area resident who meets me and pays cash will get a discount. Post and then PM-first come, first serve. Plenty of ++ feedback on ebay under jhw59. I'm offering it here first for a day or two and then off to Hoffman board, etc. Thanks for looking!
  8. Enjoyed listening to some of his early 50s recordings with Bud Shank and wondered what's worth picking up?
  9. Bartz arrived today. Thanks!
  10. pm Gary Bartz - West 42nd Street (Candid) $8
  11. and with Daryl Hall online at lfdh.com
  12. generally agree re Clapton except for his blues tour in 94-some great music there and Clapton totally on; however his singing Autumn Leaves does not fill me with joy. Another spin for Mercer in his grave after multiple revolutions with Rod's butchering of the GAS.
  13. I'm kinda irked at Mosaic. Last week I ordered the Mercer set for my father. The first question I asked was; "Do you have any upcoming promotions?" The guy said no so I went ahead. Then the free shipping email arrives which would have saved me $7, not a biggie but still...I've ordered numerous sets from them so a good customer.
  14. Word I heard is that Bob got dosed at a CT furthur show last week and was basically incoherent on stage. Phil remarked that he should be careful what he drank backstage. Look Out!
  15. Indeed a very fine recording! Copy arrived yesterday-top tier Heath!
  16. Sorry to read this but not surprised. I'm glad I got to see Organissimo once in DC. Good luck to the three of you and I look forward to the reunion tour
  17. it's way overdue for remastering but there are issues that have been discussed here before.
  18. excellent book. lots of great stories!
  19. I bought the "Essential Artie Shaw" as it was $13 and will give me an idea on where to go. I guess the boxset Shaw oversaw might be good bit it's OOP and thus quite expensive.
  20. Donation via Paypal sent!
  21. Will be playing some Morgan today!
