  1. Excellent guys. I'm kind of the same mind with Pelt and Allen on the frontline, you can't go wrong. I'll also add, Gerald Cleaver behind the drumkit is no slouch either.
  2. Any comments on Jeremy's latest? Same working unit which is defintely a good thing.
  3. Happy Birthday, Alan!
  4. Happy Birthday, Hans!
  5. Happy Birthday, John.
  6. Yesterday, I finally received an email notifying me of shipment of my order placed two weeks or so ago. I just received an email confirmation yesterday for 1 shipment. The other order which was supposed to be shipped first class since it was a single item also ordered Feb. 1, no confirmation as of yet. I guess I'll wait things out.
  7. Not to be impatient, but how long would one normally wait for a shipment to arrive from Jazz Loft? It's been almost 2 weeks.
  8. Happy Birthday, Michael.
  9. I agree. In 1988 I cycled from Manchester to Blackpool (about 65 miles). I was 19, I had trained for several weeks beforehand, but it was a real eye-opener. For a few miles I found myself at the head of a big pack, feeling good about myself. All of a sudden, the Raleigh Banana Team silently ghosted past me as if I were standing still. I remember getting on my bike again about 2 weeks later and my legs were like jelly. I don't think I've cycled more than a mile ever since - certainly not at all for over 15 years. I don't give a shit what others do. I ride because I enjoy it. I've never road trying to compete with others. That would just ruin the experience for me.
  10. Glad to hear you had a great time, Bill!
  11. I usually get candies and cookies from customers along my mail route. If I don't eat them right away, the wife will take them to work so there not still sitting around 6 months later.
  12. Today discs 3 and 4. Really enjoying the Village Vanguard recordings.
  13. i was going to post the same mosaic. i like it very much with that kind of medium band and mulligan and his bari, which i love. Well, this is the first spin for me after receiving this in the mail from a fellow board member. I'm enjoying what I'm hearing and quite happy to have made the purchase. The personnel on these dates, top notch.

  18. My wife and I were talking last night of renting Money Ball on "Movies on Demand" offered by our local cable company. Might be on the agenda tonight?
  19. PM on Lou Donaldson.
  20. I just recently became hip to Peter Bernstein's playing via his sideman dates on the Criss Cross label. I guess better late than never? His work with Melvin Rhyne for example is superb. I really dig what this guy is doing. Sticking with the Criss Cross label for now, any thoughts on his dates as a leader?
  21. From what I understand, Time Life Music is issuing a retrospective on past Rock N Roll Hall of Fame performances. One of the featured performances played on the local radio station this morning as part of a giveaway, was a smokin' performance of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". It features Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Steve Winwood, Dhani Harrison and Prince who winds things up with an awesome solo. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
  22. I'm heading out for an early New Years Eve dinner with friends. Happy New Year everybody!
