  1. Here's mine.
  2. Must be all over the charity shops in the UK...
  3. Vernell Fournier was an important influence on Alvin Fielder. It was nice to see the video for that reason alone.
  4. The BNs usually have big "Audition Copy" stamps on the back of the jacket - at least during the Liberty era of the late '60s, that's what they had. As for Prestige/New Jazz, my few promos have "Review Copy" stamped on one label and on the back of the jacket in small-ish type. They weren't differentiated by label color like Verve and ABC/Impulse, for example.
  5. I was very close to putting At This Time into my Davis list. Once my to-review shelf gets cleaned out I will be grabbing a copy of Vonski Speaks. Can't wait to hear it (again).
  6. I have a few like that also but they are stereo.
  7. As usual, the YouTube comments are beyond insipid.
  8. A Dutch rarity now: Kees Hazevoet - Pleasure One - (Peace Records)
  9. Thanks for the tip. Expensive goods, but some nice ones.
  10. Yup.
  11. I think I hate you! Do you know how impossible that one is to find? Yeah, the Polydor is a bit easier to source and I prefer its artwork, actually... broken-mirror image of Carla Bley! Great stuff. I keep trying to get that Soncino but every copy I've had has been badly warped. Rrgh.
  12. Steve Lacy - Sortie - (GTA Italian original)
  13. I saw him around 2000/2001 in a bar doing a solo set; I'd done my fair share of Takoma listening and wasn't that impressed. In light of his passing and the extensive discography that he built over the last decade, I sort of regret not investigating him further. Clearly he was following in a tradition with as much heart as brain.
  14. That's my impression of a fair number of ECMs that I've heard. I like those three players but not that record.
  15. When I clicked on the link, they also tried to give me a $44 sourcing fee... oof!
  16. Damn, dude, you sure go to a lot of shows.
  17. A Grammy for the "best" improvised jazz solo on record in a year? Give me a fucking break.
  18. A.R. Penck - Afrika Para Noia - (Weltmelodie) whoever this uncredited baritone saxophonist is, he's good.
  19. Code 81 in Aisle Seven!
  20. Funny; I think that a few of Mojo's choices are actually good ones. I'm partial to the first 10 ECMs, but there are others that are top notch.
  21. I didn't know there was a style other than that damn face-in-the-cup cover.
