  1. Several of these are on hold but there are a few left. The Rozanne Levine is a sealed spare and it is really a well-done record. I enjoy it very much.
  2. Haven't listened to that in years. My pre-sleep jam tonight: Marion Brown - Why Not? - (ESP orig)
  3. Yeah, I have a duplicate on vinyl.
  4. Bump with recent additions.
  5. Love all the ones I own.
  6. Yes, which completely explodes my initial grumble. I wouldn't be without that one! I know, I got it on a curious lark and was blown away. As for Joni, the only stuff I really got into was the Asylum material. But whatever, it'll move units and if it's done up nicely, who cares?
  7. Haha, mine already has - but without the politics.
  8. I remember buying an original copy of the Stratus Seekers at a record fair when I was barely out of my teens. The guy selling it - for $10 - said "people still listen to George Russell?" I think my response was something like "I don't know, but I want to hear him!" It's been discovery after discovery with his music since; I've only recently begun to appreciate his more rock-oriented pieces, choral work and the other compositional/textural adventures he was engaged in later on. I had the chance to interview him a few years ago for AAJ but it fell through on account of bad timing. Wish I had done so.
  9. I'd love a WCJ-by-chewy recommendations thread, too. Haven't got far past the world of Lester Koenig here but I know that's just a surface scuff. I'd also like it if chewy approved my facebook request, but I guess one can't have everything.
  10. I'm hearing word that George Russell, pianist and composer, has died. This is the only "printed" source I have seen though there is banter elsewhere about this. Hope it ain't so but if it is, Rest in Peace, Mr. Russell, and thanks for all you gave.
  11. Ayler - In Greenwich Village - (Impulse red/black stereo)
  12. Still? The Five Guys Walk into a Bar set is very very nice.
  13. The liner notes should be separate from any sort of metadata scheme you might use. If your metadata schematic looks like something out of, say, photoshop (that's what we use as a dummy format in the archives for image and non-image files), fields like Artist, Title, Recording Date, Release Year, etc. might be more along the lines of what you'd need.
  14. I have some Expedit shelves and they've held up fine stuffed to the gills with records. But the casters might be a problem.
  15. This was a Project 3 LP. Was putting in some hours at a friend's record store and came away impressed. Mostly standards/brasilia done in very inventive ways. I feel afraid to open the floodgates...
  16. I don't have this one, but I've always thought it looked interesting. The others I do have I enjoy and wouldn't get rid of.
  17. FDO from work (forced day off - i.e., required recessionary time off), now spinning: David S Ware - Live in Vilnius - (No Business) and applying for new gigs...
  18. Indeed, he had a very good run. RIP Merce. Article here.
  19. I mean, whatever anyone says about him negatively - I mean he is an asshole - but the man lives to race bicycles. Clearly he's something else.
  20. TTK, Trunk does ship to the US. I spun some Enoch Light today and thought of you. It was good!
  21. How is that LP? Can you post a link to where I can buy this in the US, assuming there are any left? You can't. Direct from Trunk only.
  22. Yeah - Can be ordered via the trunk site. From what I'm hearing it's selling pretty fast, so few copies are likely to hit the shops. Wish I could hear it at 45rpm though ! Yeah, none are being allowed to the US distributor for Trunk, because I tried to order it through a shop here.
  23. they played phoenix last night, i wanted to open or at least go but i did not get to do either, which made me sad. how's the record? It's a cool LP. They've got another one coming out soon on De Stijl, as does Jakob with a new solo LP. His solo set was awesome, of course.
