  1. Happy Birthday !
  2. Good post from Marc Myers on Jazzwax the other day about this album. Japan-only - never ever seen it.
  3. That’s the very first Eastern Rebellion lineup I saw. Either 1979 or 1980.
  4. Even the original LP mix sounds ‘raw’ so not expecting miracles with that one.
  5. Have a good one John !
  6. All the best !

‘Cold Mountain’ is really excellent - a total bargain at £2.99.
  8. I wonder if part of the deal/funding model behind this set was for Capitol to also make it available for paid HD Masters streaming/download? That was the approach applied for Rendell/Carr and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it used here. Now you’re talking.. That’s the way I broadly see it too.

There’s also the KPM Library Music compilations, for anyone who is into that stuff. ’The Zodiac Variations’ is one of the best things the Dankworth Orchestra ever did. ‘Full Circle’ and ‘Lifeline’ are no slouches either.
  10. That’s what I was thinking too - Lee Morgan and Jackie McLean boxes covering a similar period come to mind. Hard to believe that all those Hank CDs are now OOP or going OOP. Seems like only yesterday that they came out !
  11. Hopefully it won’t fly off the shelves into infinity before release date like Rendell/Carr !
  12. Whoah ! - Thought this was April 1 for a minute but there it is on the site. I’m in ! Looking forward to re-masters of ‘Slice of the Top’ and ‘Third Season’. Next up, Bill Barron?
  13. From the Bill Evans Verve box
  14. Late Happy Birthday !
  15. Thanks for that. Yes, I remember Stefan’s sale. I have the Singles set so will ponder..
  16. Is it worth picking up? Have been tempted by that one but it looks a bit forbidding..
  17. Saw a copy of that in the racks the other day but didn’t pounce. Maybe next time ! More Westbrook Hat Art, 2LP
  18. Liberty mono - nice big sound
  19. Sounds right - ‘The Atlantic Years’ twofers were W. German imports here and very good pressings too. The ‘Re-Evaluations’ Impulse series put out by M Cuscuna were cheapo green label US imports, usually with cutout, which often sounded implausibly excellent. I hung on to those too.. I suspect that many of those Impulses came over here as cutout ballast in US cargo ships.
