  1. RIP. Always enjoyed his work, a fine lead vocal.
  2. Must dig that one out !
  3. You’ll not make a better decision this year.
  4. That one has been on one of our TV channels recently and I recorded it. Mingus appears right at the beginning of the film, short but sweet. Not to forget either Tubby Hayes, Jimmy Deuchar and Alan Ganley’s feature in ‘Dr Terror’s House of Horrors’.
  5. John Cameron/Ronnie Ross ‘Kes’ Mal Waldron ‘Sweet Love, Bitter’ Basil Kirchin ‘The Abominable Dr Phibes’
  6. ‘The Remarkable Carmell Jones’ was put out on UK Vogue, John. I occasionally see copies in second hand racks.
  7. Word ! To be honest, I’ve hardly scratched the surface of this set to date but very glad to have it for future delictation.
  8. A gem of a series, already has quite a cult following over here. Series 3 recently aired on BBC, quite brilliant. Sadly, Mckenzie Crook has already confirmed it will be the last but at least it ends on a high.
  9. Nope - although I have previously set foot in the old long gone Vinyl West store in Stuttgart and perused their racks, this copy came from the UK (£5 ) Just ‘lifted’ their image file.
  10. I noticed that on Spotify over the weekend and it sounded pretty good to my ears and not an LP lift. My guess is that Edsel have included it in their MPS digitisation programme along with many other goodies. Noticed also that the Rearward reissues were also on Spotify too. Great stuff ! All sorts of interesting MPS stuff has appeared on Spotify. Mark Murphy ‘Midnight Mood’ with a Clarke/Boland Octet is also on there.
  11. Uptown LP. Very nice.
  12. Not forgetting Mr and Mrs Davis...
  13. CD3 - ‘Understanding’
  14. I agree that she looks different but the Harkit CD says so and I’ve seen it mentioned in several sources and on the radio so must be true !
  15. Sorry to say I never saw him but he did play locally a few years ago. An important figure - RIP.
  16. The band must have been coining it in. Every time I saw them in London at Ronnie Scotts it was a sell-out with even the standing areas crammed. They did several shows a night too, to different paying houses.
  17. A young Norma Winstone on the sleeve !
