I think this all new "past" of the flight not crashing on the island is a red herring. I think the bomb both worked and did not work, but my guess is at the end the timeline of the plane not crashing is going to go away in the resolution of the Jacob-Former Locke struggle. Just my guess. I'm ready for it to be over. . .this is definitely the season to end it.

To Ballantine's credit, they also had several other collections out at least one of which simultaneously, and between them all nearly all the stories were in print. There's also a few softcver collections out now that get them all out there. Amazing stories. I read about a third of this book and then set it aside so I can extend the pleasure. I love the tone of his writing, the humor and the love, the color and the cleverness.(I've previously read almost all the stories at least once).

Hey, I was the one who made that erroneous claim about the set being not legit, where/when I saw it listed it said nothing of Concord and i thought it was just another out of copyright rehashing. I was wrong. I apologize. That said, this set holds no interest to me, I have the original Prestige box set and I have all these session in XRCD or K2 issues and I know when to stop in this instance.

+1 It's disappointing they didn't add the rest of the Newport appearance, but oh well. Sound is acceptable on this date, stunningly good on the Pasadena.

I think the script writers had quite a clear idea, but were not revealing it. They are hellbent on keeping the mystery and questions intact. I agree it can be annoying, and I found that season to be the most annoying. But it's a fundamental part of the show's structure and even in this final season where they talk about "all the answers coming out" they're taking their sweet time, raising plenty of new questions.

I've been there the last few months mainly I think from boredom. What bothers me the most about the place these days is. . . the music that they seem to value so highly there is uninteresting to say the least. The Monkees. Those four gods of the modern age, the Beatles, I like them but man they're not the only game in town. Cheap Trick. On and on. So many threads and posts to skip. And I have a feeling they'll kick me out soon because I don't own any Oppo components or want to! It's a different place than this, but I guess vive la difference. Most of their heavies would likely be bored stiff here.

LOST really isn't going to change its fundamental nature. Right now: Opeth "Lamentations" DVD. The first set is just full of intricate beautiful music.

I have that "tin box" one and the packaging doesn't bother me. I also have the ten cd set with the fat cases. I wish I had the earlier version of that with the lp facsimile sleeves, that's a handsome set. Great great music.

I have a Monitor Audio "iDeck" --- the first one with the separate speakers. Functions as an excellent mini-stereo, great sound, rich and big for a small item. It was discontinued about three years ago and on sale a number of places for about 150. Well worth that price. Not sure if it can be found now, but worth a look.

Maybe there's hope. My mother was diagnosed over two years ago with Alzheimer's and memory loss. After a year plus of treatment didn't help her symptoms as well as hoped she was finally tested further and it was discovered that she had medium pressure hydrocephalus, which was a treatable condition. A simple operation has led to a severe diminishing of her symptoms and a regaining of cognitive power and safer mobility. A real trip for my family with a happier ending than we had feared.

You're right. I think the Galaxy material would make a great set though. Who knows, maybe we'll see Fresh Sound or Jazz Beat etc. sets. The only vital reissue programs there are.
