  1. Shelly Manne and his Men, "At the Blackhawk" all five volumes added.
  2. Obviously, you ordered before me!
  3. Welcome! Co-exist!
  4. Watched this dvd again as SyFy was premiering it as the pilot of the new series last night. (I wanted to be out while it was broadcasting, so watched it earlier). I think the series has promise. Started watching Damages Season Two as Season Three is beginning Monday. I didn't have cable when this season was new so I'm getting caught up. Season One, which I watched on Blu-Ray, was INTENSE. Rose Byrne needs to eat!
  5. I did too. . . but it's backordered at the moment.
  6. Kevin I can't afford to buy a car nor do I need one; I get by with my motorcycle year round here. But I like that car, if it goes away it's the same as if it stays available because I'll be doing without a car.
  7. Alright the car I want is on the list, the Saturn "Sky." Of course, it's just the car I want. I can't get it, but I want it.
  8. Alright sorry, I wasn't aware of the Tjader stuff as I don't much follow his work. I did look online about this at some point a few years ago and seem to remember these and the Jazz Master seemed to have most available.
  9. I think the whole MGM lot is available via iTunes on two MGM albums from Verve "Vault."
  10. Worlds Records has it for 29 dollars and free shipping.
  11. Who put the Benzedrine in Mr. Shrdlu's Ovaltime? This week "I Can't Believe That You're in Love with Me" by the Keith Jarrett Trio from "The OUt oF Towners." Just caught my fancy with its rubato intro adn main section full of drive.
  12. The episode with Teri GArr. . . "Assignment Earth." I've said it before, but I jsut can't believe how amazing these Star Trek Blu-Rays look and sound. Incredible! Apparently she looks pretty good in real life too if she's your type. (Not really MY type. But I think she's a decent actress, I like her in Mad Men and really liked her in Starfly.
  13. I've just sorta 'plugged into' Shearing myself and rather like what I've heard. Was eyeing the Mosaic but decided against going the $300+ eBay route (...at least that's what the last set I saw went for). Instead, I ordered 'On The Sunny Side of The Strip' and was lucky enough to find the 'Shearing Quintet on Stage' TOCJ at Amazon Japan, offered up by a seller who actually ships to the US!! Three other titles make up that set, oui? Do I need to try and snag LPs of these or have you seen them in cd form? ...possibly re-packaged and offered up as a larger collection or so by one of the Andorran, Blue Moon outfits out there? Yes, three other lps, and a few unissued selections. . . . Not available so far from Andorran outfits, but who knows?
  14. Pseudo-fringe at times, but interesting stuff for a student of Egyptology and the roots of Christianity such as I.
  15. Yes, interesting, read that yesterday. Just finished reading Was a great read.
  16. Looks great!
  17. Wow, I really disliked that Brian Melvin one. Sold it a long time ago.
  18. Yes, the "defective" box held sleeves actually smaller than those, the "improved" has exactly those size.
  19. Right. IIRC that was the same message in place when Matthew ordered his set. Good luck Matthew. Rolf, I'm not sure that this box will fit Japanese mini-lps. These Miles sleeves are considerably smaller.
  20. I've not read of anyone receiving anything other than the compelte set, box and discs.
  21. "Brilliant!"
  22. I don't watch either of those. Possibly for me the funniest is "Better Off Ted." The second to the last episode was off the wall hilarious. Just finished watching the dvd that comes with the Neil Young "Living With War -- RAW -- In the Beginning" set. The cd has the album without the choir and a few other production features, which is an interesting way to listen to the album. The DVD shows Neil and Rick and Chad going through the songs for the first time and some great takes, many of which are used on the cd. And it has this really interesting CNN type newscast thing going on, "LWW" instead of "CNN", with the scrolling type, and footage of the Iraq war, Al Gore and "The Inconvenient Truth," Bush and Cheney, etc. Also interesting was a discussion during the recording of needing a real leader now, and Barack Obama is brought up as a possible candidate running in '08 and someone says "He might not be ready" and Neil says something to the effect of "he may be ready, he may know that now is really the time, it's time for action and he should do it." I really like this and the bonus dvd that came out with the second cd/dvd combo of "Greendale." Neil is making some of the most effective "protest" music in this century in my opinion.
  23. Many many more happy happy returns!
  24. This week I keep returning to "Bandit" from Neil Young's "Greendale." A very moving sound and performance.
  25. Hope it was great, and many more!
