So is its predecessor, possibly better I noticed she was playing at the Old Mint Jazz Museum in New Orleans a couple of times in June and checked her out on youtube and Bandcamp. I'll be ordering the other CD too. Quote

This album is better than I remember. for me the very best album of Miles after his comeback. It´s fresh, it´s originals and not pop tunes, it is a playing band and no synthies and it is jazz musicians like Al Foster. It has fire and is not that kind of "show" where Miles was more a parody of himself...., and it is exiting, never gets boring.... Quote

I think Al Foster’s excellent playing is sort of like the icing on the cake of that fine album - although I wasn’t that keen on the album when it came out. Teo Macero really captures Foster’s drums well. Quote
Rabshakeh Posted July 2, 2022 Report Posted July 2, 2022 Joachim Kühn – This Way Out (MPS, 1973) Double LP. I feel like the second, with Dudek, would potentially be a euro free jazz classic if it had been released on its own. Whereas the first LP is just dull. Quote

I dig the trio cuts. Now listening to: Quote
