I'm so reassured that it's "medical doctors" that are going to be used. You all should be nice and safe.

False alarm, it was just sarcasm.

(Note: chosen emoticon is entirely sarcastic.)

Looks like we’re headed for some US meat shortages due to the meat packing plants experiencing COVID outbreaks.

I wish we protected our essential workers. :(

I made that obvious call early in March. Working conditions at meat/poultry plants have been frequently chronicled over the years in all forms of media. Politics precludes any further comment.

We can live just fine without eating processed meat. It's at best a convenience and an economic behemoth, not a necessity for survival. Not even slightly.

Many people already do, although some of us (blush....) are REALLY out of practice.

Brutal. This sure as hell isn’t “just like the flu.”  Also suggests—as do other factors—that the reported # of deaths linked to Covid-19 is an undercount.

Sadly, there is no getting through to some people the seriousness of all this, especially some of the younger element. That ‘just like a bad bout of flu’ thing seems to be a common misconception.

The lack of social distancing shown in many of the NFL draft player's houses was frightening.

Le Monde today featured an account of the many effects of this virus. Behind a firewall unfortunately.

It also helps if you read French.

Was out for a run yesterday, sticking to side streets, and as I ran past a park it was plainly obvious that social distancing, masks, etc. were viewed as quite optional.

The stroke shit is terrifying.

As the weather gets warmer, people will drop their guard...at their peril.
