Not really, because some of her singles were written by other songwriters, and a number of Bacharach tunes were album tracks for Dionne.  It would be great to gather them all in one concise location.

IIRC, at least some of those Honeydew Elvin albums had exceedingly long drum solos, which made them hard listens for me, even though I'm a big fan of his leader work in general.

I bought one out of a cutout bin and instead of an Elvin record it was a Nina Simone club date in pretty poor sound quality.

Not what I was either looking or hoping for.

Agree completely! Might be an interesting challenge to decide which Andy Kirk recordings to include, but I'd sure like to hear that selection!

Not any worse than Dan Grissom with Jimmie Lunceford. 

And I don't think it is so much a matter of being a "purist". Even tearjerkers can be swung (in a way). But I guess they were part of the repertoire (dictated by popular tastes back then) of the big bands (Black ones included) that they did play at live dates but that otherwise never got recorded (waltzes, etc.).

FWIW, bassist Kiyoshi Tokunaga, who worked with Giuffre, is also on the Curran LP. He also played drums and trumpet, and I believe is/was mostly based out of Seattle. Not sure if he is still alive.

Here are some of my wishes. Never gonna happen but still: nice to dream about them. And most of them I’d probably wouldn’t get as I own all the music (except for the Tapscott). But if it included any bonuses It would be an instant buy for sure. I just feel they deserve the mosaic treatment.
