Yeah, the individual cd situation with Bud Powell on Verve is not as nice as the set. The set has a very nice and quite extensive book, too with very clear sessionograpy and discography listings. Somebody has very helpfully posted photos of the book on musicbrainz: https://musicbrainz.org/release/c5a8b2e5-d004-4b81-92d3-fb22e6d767b2/cover-art . I have trouble reading the tiny print in most cd-sized booklets.

Interesting thread as I'm a newcomer to Teddy's work having picked up a copy of Heart & Soul on Contemporary a couple of weeks ago. I've been playing it a lot so will be keeping an eye out for some of his other dates as leader.

Wow, it could have been 1983 at the Junges Theater (Young Theatre) in Göttingen, with Dieter Glawischnig (ld, p), Palle Mikkelborg (tp), Benny Bailey was announced but unable to attend, Jiggs Whigham (tb), Herb Geller (as) … The NDR Bigband has often performed here, most recently at the Göttingen Jazz Festival under the direction of the British pianist and conductor Nikki Iles on November 7, 2025.

Friends came over tonight, and one of my friends just upgraded this CD and offered the copy he had previously to me Nice gesture (pay it forward, although I have the faintest idea what to forward back (dude is obsessed with the Beatles, and I have no Beatles)) I know, I've never owned a copy, even though my mom was a HUGE Beatles fan, but we spun it tonight, and I really do like it, cool to have a copy. -

Heckyeah. I think Lateef's playing a Berg Larsen mouthpiece. 🤔

Rest in Peace Bob. We will not speak but stand inside the rain.

RIP, Bob.

But we haven't said who's taking over February.

Most unfortunate news; RIP, Bob, and thank you for the music. -

RIP. Sad news. I used to be a big fan, but my Dead interest falls off sharply after 1972 or so and I lost track over the years.

Sad news about Bob Weir. Right now Yes, “Magnification”

I saw that band in Montreal in the first half of the sixties but don't remember who the piano player was.

It's going to be a Godard weekend. I'll be watching Breathless a bit later tonight (at home, however) and then Contempt (Le Mepris) tomorrow in a theatre.
