I've been wondering the same thing. I loved that last boxed set.

Okay, so I'm going Saturday mainly to see Maria Schneider and Joe Lovano. Does anybody know anything about these vocalists or have seen any of them perform? Lady Blackbird, Samara Joy, and Melanie Charles? I used to like Esperanza Spalding but she's kinda worn on me... I did check out Holly Bowling (I know she's a pianist, not a vocalist). One of my top 5 Mosaic sets...

okay so let me see if I understand this... Vol. 6 was a 4CD set that had been published numerous times in several different sets and Vol. 7 is a 3cd set that no one wanted to release in 40 years. Did I miss anything? What am I not getting?

Given that the sale price ends today.... I'm assuming the sets would be shipping soon. Anyone get a shipping notice or update? Thanks.

Honestly... I know it's sacrilegious to say this but every Mosaic Armstrong box (except the most recent one which I didn't buy). The ONLY Louis Armstrong I can get into is his dates with Ella. No matter how many times I listen and try, he just doesn't work for me. I get his importance - I just can't get into his sound. I also regret getting the Bing Crosby set (mainly because I wish it was like 4 discs and not the 8 or 10 it was).

I highly recommend the Kanto family. I have the Kanto Yu2's. My ONLY problem with them is in order for them to get loud it needs to be at max volume. I have tried the Yu4's which are better (Bluetooth and louder) but there's a big price bump between the two models. I've only gotten the active models not the passive although I have heard they sound much better with a subwoofer. I like these so much because of the color options (which is something very different from just the average black desktop speaker). I might be interested in Plex as well but I'm assuming it can't incorporate music purchased THROUGH Itunes (DRM) or am I wrong about that?

I'm not quite following the technical problem here. I can also say as a Mac user with a large library (about 800GB) that Itunes/Music App is messed up. I don't know if this will help the original poster, but I keep my music library on the hard drive, backed up to two external drives via Time Machine. The problem I had is that if you have an Apple Music subscription, (in my experience) the app's default is to automatically sync your music to the cloud. In my case that was a disaster. As you know it takes a ton of time to upload anything that large. Our stuff (esp. things like alternate takes, etc.) get lost and confused by the Itunes upload. As a result, I lost a ton of stuff (including some Mosaic sets). I'm still tracking down my physical discs to try and find what I missed but it's a mess thanks to Apple Music.

Okay, I caved. Don't know if I'll really like this set or if it will just be okay. Given the time and effort Mosaic has put into this and the fact that these recordings won't see the light of day after this set is gone... was enough for me. Worth a shot.

Okay, I'm going into the way back machine. Years ago (apparently 2017), there was a crowd-sourced effort on a Weather Report documentary that included many pleasant perks. I like others contributed (I think it was $150 or something) and never got anything nor ever heard anything from the organizers. Do you guess that the Black and White will sound better or worse (now I'm asking about the sonic experience)? Also I'm listening to Classic Capitol now and I thought it covered a broader (and earlier) spectrum of years than the Black and White set?

Question for you guys... Which previous Mosaic set "sounds" kinda like this Black and White set? I don't mean sonically. I mean in terms of the music. I'm trying to decide whether to fork up the cash and need a reference point. Thanks.

You'd be surprised how many of these artists DON'T show up on YouTube... I mean I think I know what Christian McBride is trying to do but the last few years there's quite a few bands/musicians who are really not well known.
