Well put... I was minimally curious until I saw the $350 price tag.....

It was/is $7.99 in the iTunes Store... With that price... I couldn't resist... love it.

Already preordered... I loved Mulgrew... I always believed he was soo.... underrated. His 3cd set with Kenny Barron is fantastic.

I mostly get my cds from importcds.com. They've got the CD set @$60 not including shipping...

that's fine with me... as long as they stay in biz.... I still have hope (perhaps unrealistic) that I'll still get my boxed set of live previously unreleased Betty Carter... In the meantime I'll totally live with my upcoming Lee Morgan box

I never had the 2lp set but do have the 3cd set.... That set is great. For me this was a no-brainer for a few reasons... a) I love Lee b) who knows if we'll ever see anymore Lee Morgan releases (especially 4 hours of unreleased live stuff!!!!) and c) I'm curious how much the band evolved over those nights. This is/was a must buy for me.

$80 cd... Just preordered... Cannot wait....!

Amen.. Personally this return to vinyl has gone so overkill for me... There's a reason the CD replaced vinyl and digital replaced the CD... Augh.... I'll grab the cd version when it comes out. Sounds like some of this has been previously released?

I'm assuming since it's a Blue Note release, they are going to do a real CD release... What's odd to me is I wish there some more info about pricing/package presentation/liner notes/etc.... I can't remember the last 8CD Blue Note release that wasn't Mosaic... I would think they would promote this more....

Any of you guys hip to what's happening there this summer? I'm on their email list and they've announced the plan/tickets for the Folk Festival. They've said the Jazz Festival info is coming but didn't say when... One thing that's really annoying is that they are giving first ticket dibs to "members" of the Festival. When I emailed them telling them I don't remember any kind of "membership" plan, they said it was only available during and at the jazz festival. I explained that I'd be going to for 20+ years and this was the first I've ever heard of it. Are any of you guys Newport Jazz Festival "members" and got any upcoming ticket/scheduling info? Thanks.

Returning back to this Henderson set... I'm leaning toward passing on it as I've got about half of it and there doesn't seem to be much new material.

Have and love all of those sessions.... I can't imagine that being re-released... All of those have been CD (17)... Adding in whatever else exists Mosaic would be looking at like at least an 8CD set... Can't see it.

What the heck would be in it? I think I have all that stuff on CD already. You mean like all the BN sessions from that decade? I can't see buying that (as much as LOVE Morgan) unless there's a lot of previously unreleased stuff (and I don't mean alternates or incomplete takes).

I'm confused. I just looked at the discography and looked at my own library. Mosaic's website has the following as having been released on CD previously.. I have Trompeta Toccato and Little Johnny C on CD... it was like a Van Gelder special release or something like that. Was this just an oversight? I'm trying to figure out how much of this I already have... Looks like about half...... Not sure what to do.... Count me in that category both the waffling and the ears.... Which Morgan are you talking about??? If it's the complete Live at the Lighthouse - I thought that wasn't out until June?

Ok I know this may be heresy on this site.. but do we really NEED another Armstrong Mosaic? I'm frustrated as obviously Mosaic is releasing fewer sets but TWO Armstrong Mosaics in the same year, really??? Go ahead... @me....

Thanks... my problem is that I'm completely uninterested in vinyl... I really hope this isn't a case where they are jus going to do the vinyl... That's becoming a problematic trend.
