BUT.. they got some of the old-timers as well... I'm very intrigued. It's felt like the last few years I had no idea who their artists were... It seems like a more mixed lineup this year of established jazz musicians and a few crossovers and newbies... Anybody on this board, recommend who I should check out (of the newbies)?

Do you have the 3cd box? How does this compare? Even though it's cheaper - I'm leaning against as I have a lot of Jim Hall.

One of my favorite sets... Not a bad cd in the bunch. Just Disc 1 of this one... Been a long time since I heard it.

I was listening to WBGO this morning and a live version of "Spain" was playing. I remembered how much I liked RTF and I'm trying to understand something. I went back into my digital collection (a f'ing mess that I have to get better organized) and found a 3cd version of this set. Have you seen Mary Halvorson before? I just can't get into her music and I'm wondering if her live performance is different/better?

Here's one of the things I'm still confused about. I have this set. It overlaps conceptually and time-wise with the Mosaic set but I'm getting the sense that the Mosaic set doesn't just duplicate this. Am I wrong?
