  1. For those who want to get an impression of the complete Rich set, go to Amazon Germany and click on "alle anhören".
  2. Threadgill thread Threadgill Mosaic thread AMG Threadgill bio
  3. I hear that the janitor is looking after the tape archive.. Oops, he just spilt some coffee...
  4. Yep, in 2002: Toshiba/United Artists TOCJ-9457. It's available on Fresh Sound FSR-1642.
  5. The Japanese Sony issue with the misspelt title is not a bootleg
  6. I picked this up yesterday and while I am very impressed with the performance, I wish the recording were as good. There seems to be a bit of distortion and in particular the horns buzz a bit - not terrible but not great either Any distortion that's on the master tape won't be remedied by a remaster.
  7. I'm looking for this Japanese CD in excellent or better condition: Milt Jackson - Just the Way It Had to Be - Impulse! WMC5-129 As far as I know this album has never been released on CD in the United States and not even in Europe. Please note that I do NOT want Jackson's That's the Way It Is album, which I already have on CD. I'm willing to pay $20 plus shipping. PayPal is my only payment option. Please PM me if you are selling one.
  8. I met Babs Gonzales in my home town back in the 1970s. He told us some amazing stories about his life and the people he met. Funny guy.
  9. Moaning about Mosaic's shipping methods here won't help. Why not contact Mosaic about it directly, I know they'd appreciate the feedback.
  10. Sad news. The Louvin Brothers Bear Family box is wonderful.
  11. I am looking for this CD that came out in 1994, in excellent or better condition: Bobby Hutcherson - Live at Montreux - Blue Note B2-27819 - absolutely no CD-R I'm willing to pay around $20 plus shipping. PayPal is my only payment option. Please PM me if you are selling one.
  12. you can't go wrong with either set. I am a bit surprised that the rich is already running low - it has not been out that long. Maybe their lease is expiring.
  13. Maybe they didn't get permission from Capitol/EMI.
  14. I'd recommend the Johnny Smith set.
  15. Nor mine. This is a good set. Yeah, I was a drummer and maybe I enjoy the drumming aspects a bit more than others may, but there is much swinging jazz here to get excited about. I truly like this eet more than I expected to, and am glad I've had it a few years. I second this. I like it very much and 'm glad I have it. It's on running low now together with the Jimmy Smith set. The Johnny Smith set is now "running low", not Jimmy Smith. I have edited the thread title to include that one.
  16. You can't locate Larry Kart?
  17. I have merged the 2 threads.
  18. If anyone has the contact info Allen needs, please contact him by PM and do not post e-mail addresses in this thread. Not everyone wants their address to be publicly known. Thanks.
  19. 2 days ... and 10 years! Ype, I guess it should be July 7, 1958. Not if Ray Charles performed Beatles songs and the Don Ellis big band was there too. Then 1968 sounds right. Yep, you're right

  21. Just because it's not on the website doesn't change that it's really is running low...like I said, both Fred and later in the day Scott told me it will be put on the running low/last chance list (not sure which one they will put it on). You can call and ask yourself if you don't believe me! I'm not here to start rumors Relax, I didn't say it wasn't running low or that you weren't telling the truth, I just noted that it hadn't been listed yet.
  22. It's not listed yet on the "Running Low/Last Chance" page.
  23. There is.
