Very sorry to hear this. Saw him with Mal Waldron many years ago which was excellent. He had a monthly gig in Heidelberg with his trio and I regret I never made up my mind to go there. Then there was the pandemic and that was it. RIP

That is the ORF Edition LP I presume. Only six tracks as well.

Now that's a reason to buy the new reissue.

I already had all of Walker's and many of the Milburn and Brown tracks on excellent sounding reissue LPs, so I passed by the Mosaics. Very good music, for sure. But I wouldn't listen to more than one ot two discs at a time.

Today I noticed I have too little of Zoot Sims and my collections and wanted to ask for recommendarions, but all I need to know is to be found here. Just ordered the Gershwin Brothers SACD, more to follow. Some kind soul had sent me a copy of the expanded CD version of the Bethlehem album - it swings, and George Tucker sounds terrific on that session.

I saw that trio live during that tour, and there was no punk at all. I should get me a copy, if only for nostalgic reasons.

This Brew Moore LP was reissued as OJC LP, but not on CD. (The companion album on Fantasy was issued in both formats)

Seems they missed the opportunity to complete the sessions with tracks from other releases. Oh well ....

Definitely a missed opportunity, when they did not add "Lover" to the OJC CD. It's not the only CD where they loused up. Seems like the Fresh Sound CD is the only CD reissue of the complete session.

Opened this one to celebrate my wife's birthday - one of the best we ever had ! 2016 vintage.

He was a creative bundle of energy whomever he played with. RIP .Much too young to die. I loved his big sound on hhe acoustic bass.

IMO not one of the better Monk sessions. Sounds to me like they were on different musical planets. The three alternates on the Rhino disc are enough for me.

I panicked when I saw on Mosaic's website that it was out of stock as they are changing warehouses and ordered a copy from Jazzmessengers on Sunday. It arrived here today at noon - fastest delivery of a Mosaic box ever!

Enough material in that box to trigger my interest.
