Essentially agree with all of the above. I had sort of listened less & less. The Bud Powell tribute he did renewed my interest & took me back to a lot of the earlier work.

The Shepp Venus CDs are all excellent IMHO. Try Cadence - $20 each, $19 if you're a subscriber.

I just tried to sell mine here & there were no takers.

I'm not sure I get it. Should I go to the Borders store & pay 18.98 + tax for the same CD that I can buy online (say at CD universe) for $4-5 less? Should I pay $30-35 for a Venus CD or buy it from Cadence for $20? Or is this a different issue? Who's ripping off who?

Seems to me that I heard he played with Mingus at one time. Don't think he recorded with him. I've got a Collectables CD with Green & Wynton Kelly listed as co-leaders. Pretty good.

I have this CD also. Thanks for the additional info. on who's playing. The CD insert only has about a third of the players listed.
