  1. if i might add: check a local paper supply / printer. they might have slabs of corrugated that they recycle. cut them to 15 x 15 (inches that is) and align each piece in opposite grain direction. I prefer kraft tape with the nylon threading that you must moisten w/ a damp sponge. adds firmness and never comes off if applied correctly and beats plastiky packing tape.
  2. wow, thanks for that. so I read he "collapsed" of a heart attack and never really came back while singing the same song on the same show - some 17 years later(?). Now did the Isley's pick up on that tune for "Shout!" or what?
  3. no vet here but ... maybe make a little shirt out of an old t-shirt - tho cats get out of just about anything. i bought an inflatable donut comfy collar thing (regular collar loops thru it to keep in place) for the dog - looks funny as hell, he won't drown and much better than the cone of shame. vet has suggested Desitin - baby rash stuff - it's non toxic and won't have any side effects. increase tuna and salmon for that oil.
  4. These sets look amazing. congrats on all the work! IIRC you were looking for art for the set (or maybe I'm senile)?? I check some artist blogs off & on and thought of this guy for a look: http://limbolo.blogspot.com/ (he reminds me a bit of Joe Ciardiello - http://www.joeciardiello.com/ - who did the Capitol blues collection covers, only a bit softer and rarer seen & a bit of old Bart Forbes in style but w more oomph.)
  5. Not so much a big bargain but I saw The Beatles MONO boxes at NC (store) for $199.99 - supposedly the last shipments of these is it? Seems the OJCs are now up to $5.99 across the board for SACD, Keepnews, K2 20s and Van Gelder re-issues.
  6. some I didn't hear: the RVG of Parlan's 'Up and Down' left off the first couple of Green's "Other Part of Town" - inexcusable.
  7. so these CP-32s are all McMasters? (as shrugs would say : i must have smoked the obis.) I have a two disc set - first CDs I ever bought in '85 - The Best of Blue Note Vols 1&2. Sound fine and never realized these are the so called "black triangle" versions as well. Best thing about them is that Silver's "Song for My Father" has no distortion / tape stretch.
  8. Clinton offers Tiger his support! I do hope someone had the tap on that call.
  9. now I'm not quite sure if that pairarenormal?
  10. Completely with ya ... I made that exact same Hutch and Herbie disc a few years back.
  11. they appear to sound better as your elevated heart rate from getting up so many times increases your pleasure.
  12. too many steps ... i can't get no
  13. Tom, not so frequently but Peabody - Burlington is better. Stopped at the Harvard Sq Garage a couple weeks back and that place was loaded.
  14. yes they do and I'm happy they've stuck it out while the Towers and Virgins went by the wayside. there is a Starbucks right next to the N C store here and walking out with something from the rarely pawed jazz bins versus an overburnt beverage is a no brainer.
  15. weird - esp the comment that he: won't play at Augusta until they replace the sand-trap rakes with hoes.
  16. that is a much better take. they should have at least put the "extra blow up" cuts on the OST.
  17. This looks excellent and I'd missed this completely. Gilles has great taste, thanks! do dig deep into that site. esp the touring section under the tab "my Havana" and "artists" as it's a treasure. the whole thing has been updated and just goes on and on. have the best time!
  18. Have you checked Gilles Peterson's newest project? Havana Cultura fantastic stuff IMO other thread
  19. Too bad for the overhyped kinky blond. but the red haired dude! Shaun White X
  20. up... the wall outside the old MOMA? anyone know??
  21. Is that track available anywhere except the Mosaic box? it's on the single edition (non twofer, newer) of "The New..."
  22. your not supposed to ingest them all the way! (or were you speaking injest?)
  23. 25 feet huh? Johnny Griffin should do just fine but stuff like Bolero not so much. congrats ... i have very old Grado prestige 200s and they are grãd.
