Turns out she was one of the top horse breeders in the world, all funded by the fraud.
Apparently she took twelve weeks of unpaid vacation in 2011 (in addition to four paid weeks). So she took off 16 weeks in 2011 and at some point during her absence, her replacement detected the fraud.
Most people who commit this type of fraud rarely take time off, for obvious reasons. How in the world did she think she could skate by for sixteen weeks???
