link which popped up when I scanned the UPC on the mini-OBI strip ... http://www.emimusic.jp/jazz/bnlt/index_j.htm I do believe several of these have never been available as a single CD (i.e. the only way to procure them was through a Mosaic set) - a couple of the Turrentines come to mind - Ain't No Way and Mr. Natural.

Things Written On Used LPs You've Picked Up
Eric replied to Teasing the Korean's topic in The Vinyl Frontier
I bought a used copy of Joe Henderson's "Our Thing" through the mail maybe 30 years ago. On the back are a couple of rather amazing sketches of Andrew Hill and Kenny Dorham, along with some exuberant (and amusing) commentary on some of the tracks. Never seen anything like it. It is filed away somewhere (not my "play" copy), but I will find it and post a photo. -
I bought and received Sonic Boom from Dusty Groove. Won't have a chance to listen for a couple days, but on the back it does say "newly mastered in 2012 by Yoshio Okazaki".

Looks like there is also a Chet Baker box than never came out the US. They also show an 11-CD version of the Dolphy set, versus nine in the domestic version. Wonder what makes up the other two CDs, unless there is a typo.

I also enjoy the Sipiagin and Adam Rogers titles.

don't they come from this book? http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Note-Photography-Francis-Wolff/dp/0789304937/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1343158970&sr=1-2-fkmr1&keywords=blue+note+color+wolff

If they wanted to limit the offer to previous customers there are any number of ways they could do this without using regular old coupon codes. They could simply ask you to provide some info on the receipt from your last order. I fail to see why the consumer is obligated to go along with the marketing framing (including restricting information to various channels) of businesses that offer deals. It's an exceptionally strange and customer-hostile view of business ethics. If Mosaic had titled the email "SUPER-SEEKRIT COUPON - DO NOT SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH THE RABBLE OR YOUR OWN COUPON IS INVALID" then that would be one thing.

Wild, I happened to be listening to the boot when up popped this thread. Sound varies between discs: Disc 1, not so bad, Disc 2 rather muffled at times. Fun music throughout.

student loan debt history

this data seems a little goofy so from 2005 to 2012, the 50-59 group went from $34 billion to $106 billion?? -
Hmm, have not noticed that. Are you using iTunes Match or streaming from your computer? I'm using iTunes from my computer (not iTunes Match), with the "2 Speakers" option in iTunes. But there are so many other programs that communicate with the cloud (iCal, etc). It's just a guess on my part; I can't say definitively that's what's causing it. Interestingly, I don't hear breaks in the music from the remote speakers. Hmm, maybe it is your network.

Those actually are two different concerts. The 1960 concert (December 6) has Bobby Timmons on piano, as opposed to Walter Davis Jr. who was filling in for the '59 tour. The 1959 concert was from November 23. They played Lester Left Town and Night in Tunisia at both concerts. Otherwise, the songs were different. Interesting - I had always made the same assumption! But you can tell by looking at the photos ...

With the V-DAC, some reviewers suggest replacing the power supply. Did you do that, or is the one that came with the unit OK? I know that was the recommendation with the original V-DAC, but I did not. Perhaps I am dreaming, but I thought that was an improvement made with the V-DAC II. But I could be thinking of some other component ...

Try www.computeraudiophile.com I have these two: http://www.stereophile.com/content/rega-dac-da-processor http://www.amazon.com/Musical-Fidelity-V-DAC-II-Asynchronous/dp/B005K8CSZ2 The V-DAC is a reasonable place to start!

I'd like to beam an audio signal throughout my house, sort of my own radio station. I'm thinking of using an old Mac with an EHD holding my music library. iTunes on the Mac would beam the music signal. I could then hopefully use Airport Expresses and/or Apple TVs connected to stereos in different rooms. Is this doable? Would each receptor (Airport Express/Apple TV) need some sort of video screen? Will iTunes beam to multiple receptors (Airport Express/Apple TV), or will I need a software program like AirFoil? Ideally, I could use wi-fi iPods to receive the music signal, but I don't know if that's possible. Anyone have thoughts? Fortunately it is much simpler than that! old Mac + EHD, running iTunes, will work just fine as a digital source purchase an Airport Express (AEX) for each room that you want to play music in iTunes has a little piece of software that recognizes each AEX and so you will be able to beam to the AEX of your choice (or multiple AEXs simultaneously) the AEX then needs to be connected to a power source which is of course connected to your speakers as Deuterium mentions above, you can bypass the DAC in the AEX by using a digital cable to connect the AEX to a separate DAC, which then connects to the power source this step is optional I go this route for my two "serious" listening rooms but go straight from the AEX to the power source in my daughter's bedroom* if you have one, you can then use your iPod, iPad or iPhone as a remote there are plenty of audiophile enhancements that can be made (which I have not), but this will get you up and running and enjoying music happy to explain further if you like * in her room I have bypassed the separate power source as the AEX is connected to these powered speakers: http://audioengineusa.com/Store/Audioengine-2 Thanks! This is really helpful. Will an Apple TV work instead of an AEX? An Apple TV is the same price as an AEX, so getting some of those may offer more possibilities in the long run. yes, it will - forgot to mention above - have this set-up in my basement
-
that is my understanding, I went this route a couple years before I went Mac

I'm considering purchasing an automated ripping station for my 4,000+ cd collection. Most products are for professional use and cost well over $1000. The Acronova Nimbie NB11 pictured below is less than $500 and allows you to load up to 100 discs at a time. Most likely I would sell it on eBay or a computer/audio board after ripping my collection. Curious, did you ever make the plunge?

You know Tom I think you are correct. Being a boring middle-aged dude with three kids, I was not exactly keen on the scene, but allmusic suggests she left KC after high school, circa 2004. I first saw her maybe 3-4 years ago, and it was not part of some club stint, she just happened to be passing through town (as a back-up act and damn if I can recall who was the opener). Most recently I saw her at the Independence Event Center, opening for (ugh) Bruno Mars. Maybe 1/3 of the crowd were hardcore Monae fans, but quite a few of the teenyboppers who were there to see Mars seemed to take to her as well. Regardless, she put on one hell of a show, one of the four-five best I have ever seen.
-
I am a homer (she is from KC), but I have seen her several times and agree with you 100% ... just a sensational show and artist

There is one but I don't have it. looks like there is the "on-demand" version available at amazon, but a number of used copies in the $15 range nice session, I played it to death when this came out in the mid-80s ...
