  3. still waiting here in NY.....sure would be nice to have to listen to during the one-two snowstorm punch headed our way..... Made it yesterday. Mine was packaged in an oversized box with some extra cardboard and air cushioning. But I'm confused. Is this the "desired" Japanese set? The CDs all have OBIs and the sleeves say they are manufactured in Japan. I listened quickly to Zep 1 on a small stereo in the kitchen and it sounded very detailed. I heard John Bonham in a new way. I know there was some discussion about the difference in mastering. Still waiting for mine Mine took two weeks or so.
  4. Fun story - thanks for posting.
  5. Another for Penny Arcade. Really smokes and is fun-kay
  6. The Arthur Blythe and the James Blood Ulmer Columbia LPs would be an awesome Mosaic project!

  9. this is crazy ... unlike the wildly overpriced Stones Exile "deluxe edition", this thing looks amazing 1. Original album remastered 2. A whole new *four* record set called "The Promise" - all unreleased from the Darkness era 3. DVD #1 - The making of Darkness 4. DVD #2 - 2009 live re-recording of Darkness (no audience) + 12 live tracks, some off the original Darkness, some off Promise 5. DVD #3 - 1978 "bootleg house cut" show from Houston Oh yeah, plus an 80-page book. Plus a poster. Plus a t-shirt $115 - I am a buyer
  10. For those interested, there is a big feature on the "re-birth" of Apple in the Sept 2010 issue of Record Collector. Just received it today - have not had a look.

    Janelle MonĂ¡e

"Only you" take5? ....good pop music could and should be.... are there other recordings, of which you would say that? pet sounds? no one else listening to janelle monae????? she is from KC her EP is pretty cool too
  12. living in KC the last 25 years, I could not agree more we went from packing the house with 99% KC folks whenever they came to town to maybe drawing 15 - 20,000 when they show up, but worse, 2/3 of those folks are pulling for the Yankees fuck George indeed!
  13. I don't know how the Texas schools feel about all this, but speaking as an alum of one of Big 12 North schools (KU) living in Kansas City, I am glad to see this outcome. The thought of KU, Mizzou and K-State (all of whom have strong fan bases in KC) winding up in different conferences was depressing to say the least (as was the thought of losing the Big 12 bball tourney, which will be in KC for three years running). It is rather interesting how (in the short run anyway), a school can make more with 10 versus 12. At the end of the day, we don't lose much in terms of sports tradition (no change in bball, sorry to see NU go in fball, and w/c about CU).

  17. I also noted that both iTunes and amazon have this one (the first incarnation of VSOP) - cheaper at amazon, plus you can cherry-pick tracks http://www.amazon.com/V-S-O-P/dp/B001FL2E4S/ref=pd_sim_dmusic_a_3
  18. Likewise. With a Little Luck is a polished turd at best, but the rest of it is really very pleasant.
  19. Yep, that was me. Still missing ... although it all came out on individual CDs or the Select I believe ...
  20. Hey Paul ... congrats ... lot of long faces in your old neck of the woods!
