  1. I would have thought it would be the reverse.
  2. Yeah, it was that bad. It seems that he may avoid Tommy John surgery, which would allow him to be ready for training camp.
  3. It’s an almost unwatchable Super Bowl. I dislike both teams but to have the dirty birds win another title? No thanks. One good thing. Hopefully, Eagles fans won’t be able to throw eggs at opposing fans like they did on Sunday. I guess Santa Claus wasn’t around.
  4. Purdy suffered a complete tear of the UCL. Once he went out they weren’t going to win. Too bad because they could have won. Even with a healthy backup their chances went out the window.
  5. My local record store was selling it for $20, which was a good price.
  6. For sure. Some on Hoffman were saying that the Pure Pleasure version sounded lifeless compared to the TP but to me it sounds fine.
  7. A very good one. This is the Pure Pleasure one, not the recent TP.
  8. Weird fucking process.
  9. No, it’s not.
  10. I will check this out.
  11. Listening to Dave’s Picks 41, which I picked up from Lon (also 42-44). Forgot to renew in 2022 so I got lucky.
  12. I must be lucky because I’ve never had an issue with a DG package.
  13. I wasn’t sure of the point he was making either and I read the post three times. I think anyone would have been moved by Jam Session Blues in (D). I certainly was.
  14. I have the cd version of this from Jass which adds songs from Charlie Parker and is called Charlie Parker and the Stars of Modern Jazz at Carnegie Hall, Christmas 1949.
  15. David Crosby loved Twitter. David Crosby, a King of Twitter “The musician relished sharing opinions big and small, sparring with fans and dispelling myths, often in sharp, hilarious quips. The vibe on the platform changed, but he posted until the end.”
  16. If you’re just looking for a sampler, this isn’t bad and generally inexpensive too. It was issued in both lp and cd. https://www.discogs.com/release/3680995-Various-The-Best-Of-Chess-Jazz
  17. Mosaic just sent an email which says in part: “We've received a number of e-mails regarding the orders and wanted to explain where we are at. Mosaic Records utilizes an outside fulfillment house. They are a small business and are not staffed to ship all orders same day. All orders placed by Jan 11th are expected to ship this week but it is possible there is a spillover until next week. You will receive an e-mail with tracking # when shipped. We had a strong response to the sale priced preorder. We sent a notice on Jan 12 that we had run thru our initial stock. We expect the reorder to arrive in about 2 weeks. Also to clear up some confusion regarding credit card orders. There is a rule imposed by the credit card companies whereby the authorization for charging the card is only valid for 30 days. We should have charged early orders (Dec 15th and prior) at this point but screwed up and had to notify those to reorder. If ordered by PayPal there was no issue and any PayPal orders are now being processed. Also please note that whether you ordered by PayPal or credit card this does not change when your order is shipped.”
  18. You can’t be serious relying on on this rag as a source.
  19. I received mine on Friday but only just had a chance to listen to the first disc. I don’t have most of this music so this is the first time I’m hearing it… and loving it. The book stock is indeed made up of heavier stock and mine has no issues except the photo of Hank as Sonny. As @John Lsaid, great job.
