Lazaro, I've been meaning to tell you "thanks for posting" this info, so....
Thanks for posting this, Lazaro!
(I refer back to it often, and have been printing it out for a friend that doesn't have a computer.)
Somebody needs to grab Dexter Gordon's Take The A Train (Black Lion) for $11.00. Great record!
(and let me know if Both Sides of Midnight is ever in stock -- still looking for that one!)
What's up with the props from The Bad Plus (at the bottom of the page)? "thanks for your music...very inspiring"?
Monk Lite: Now with only 1/3 the calories?
"I've got chunks of guys like you in my stool!" -- Frank Sinatra to Michael Bolton, in response to this new CD.
Seriously, I can't see why anybody would buy this crap. Why not just go buy the real deal?

Just cancelled my membership -- I've got way too much music that I haven't listened to more than once or twice. As much as I love eMusic's jazz selections, I need some time to digest all of this.
I also find myself buying "real" (CD) copies of many of my downloads. VBR mp3's are nice, but they just aren't quite the "real thing".
I just went back for a closer look, and I can't disagree with anything you wrote.
The entire site just has a "dated" look to me -- and it doesn't seem like they update it very often. For instance, the "On Sale Now" page hasn't been updated in almost two years.
But, I see that you (and others on the board) have had good experiences ordering from them online, and that's good enough for me.
Prices aren't spectacular, and the entire site is, well, amateur.
I'd much prefer to buy from the JRM (rather than Amazon, CD Universe, etc.). If they got the prices just a little closer, and improved the website a bit...
Adapt and survive.
I'm sure Jim would be surprised to know I've got a vinyl copy of "Misplaced Childhood" (1985) somewhere in the basement. Haven't listened to it in years, but I remember thinking of them as a kind of "Genesis Lite".
I also had Fish's solo effort ("Vigil in a Wilderness of Mirrors") back in college.
