Maybe worth a wander round the neighbourhood to see if anyone is playing ‘Dear Johnny B’ through their window at full volume? Hermes are not my favourite delivery company..

My UK pressing, sounding as good as the day it was bought back in ‘74. In fact way better, thanks to the deck. Great 2LP set from back in the day (Esmond Edwards era at Impulse I think).

I didn’t see it but most of the reviews of the London concert have been so-so. There was mention that the concert was on the short side. Maybe expectations, with this being the LJF, were too high?

Yes, I recall that ‘Slice’ was conceived in outline form while Hank was serving a sentence and Duke Pearson fleshed out the arrangements. It is detailed in the sleevenotes to the ‘Rainbow Series’ LP.
