  1. Big fan of Malcolm Addey . I’m usually quite happy with Mr McMaster’s issues too.
  2. I’ve always been of the impression that the CDs on Phono are EU grey-market.
  3. Yep - I remember seeing him as part of the ‘Bebop Preservation Society’ with Hank Shaw and - I think - Peter King.
  4. Bill Le Sage ‘Directions in Jazz’ Unit (Philips). With Ronnie Ross
  5. Must have got one of the last in stock. Still available at the alternative Mosaic universe that is jazzmessengers.
  6. You’re not the only one to have had issues, Clunky. Something went wrong with the original card processing of mine so I just had to re-order the whole lot from scratch. Maybe worth a wander round the neighbourhood to see if anyone is playing ‘Dear Johnny B’ through their window at full volume? Hermes are not my favourite delivery company..
  7. That’s a bit worrying. Maybe Hermes have got lost somewhere up the A1?
  8. Not weak at all - those are all excellent reasons.
  9. Still got those 3 original CDs and will spin them over the break as a precursor to getting the Mosaic !
  10. Very good price but too bad about the New Year wait. Hoping I finally get my sets on Friday or thereabouts in time for an Xmas Tubby blowout. The Amazon UK price is ridiculous though. Really looking forward to the Gearbox vinyl !
  11. Nice Warners Germany 180g version
  12. My UK pressing, sounding as good as the day it was bought back in ‘74. In fact way better, thanks to the deck. Great 2LP set from back in the day (Esmond Edwards era at Impulse I think).
  13. Same here - and that 2LP UK CBS set is still my go-to version.
  14. They usually only sell the booklets after a set goes OOP - unlikely that that position has changed.
  15. Duncan Lamont Michel Legrand Ray Swinfield Dr John
  16. Today’s welcome find at Oxfam
  17. I thought they charged cards at time of shipping - or has that changed?
  18. I didn’t see it but most of the reviews of the London concert have been so-so. There was mention that the concert was on the short side. Maybe expectations, with this being the LJF, were too high?
  19. Yes, I recall that ‘Slice’ was conceived in outline form while Hank was serving a sentence and Duke Pearson fleshed out the arrangements. It is detailed in the sleevenotes to the ‘Rainbow Series’ LP.
