  1. As if by magic I actually have within my files a typed/printed publicity flyer sent out by Graham covering his gigs in the London area, June-July 1969. On July 21st they were at the 100 Club, 100 Oxford Street. Then Graham adds the note 'after which, the band goes to Antibes to participate in the International Jazz Festival - and to have a holiday !' and so it came to pass ! In addition the band did a broadcast in June 1969 for the BBC on 'Jazz Workshop' which featured...... Aberdeen Angus !
  2. Those were the days. Alas - I missed them ! That LP has taken nearly 50 years for reissue (one of those mythic 100 copy jobs).
  3. I don't have the LP, never heard this one before nor did I see the Eastwood film but it is a lovely session and presented in really excellent sound by Mosaic. Hartman loses his way with the lyrics in a couple of places but his voice is great.
  4. It's still $285 of lost business which Mosaic can ill afford to lose. Jeez !
  5. His 'Man Talk For Moderns' on Blue Note came immediately to mind when I saw this thread. From a bit earlier - 1991ish I think.
  6. From the Mosaic Bee Hive set - superb.
  7. Can lick my vinyl any time..
  8. Good Friday night music - Edel Edition CD sounds great.
  9. Complete Bee Hive Sessions CD9 - Ronnie Matthews
  10. Louis Armstrong Columbia and RCA Victor Live - CD1 With single malt in hand. No work tomorrow !
  11. It was only after reading this article that I realised that I had probably seen Brian Rust a number of times at the Swanage Jazz Fest; apparently his latter-day home. Almost certainly in Tent 1 ('Trad') and not Tent 2 ('Dirty Boppers').
  12. Rhodes Boyson 'Teacher' Wackford Squeers
  13. This is a good read.. https://medium.com/@JPRobinson/hot-jazz-and-air-raids-33d9ec89d4e7
  14. Big Bopper Mr Big Giant Haystacks
  15. Not solely jazz but Regal Zonophone has a certain ring to it. Melodisc 77 Blue Parrott Airborne Not to mention the 'Foo Kinnell' series (on Spotlite, I think)
  16. The Bad Plus 'Give' from Oxfam for £1.99
  17. Interesting - the Harold Moores place always seemed to me to be like a classical records version of Gringotts, with the staff near-ringers for Gringotts elves. The ground floor classical area was stacked with rare and very pricy old analogue classical pressings, usually in superb shape. Much of it priced at £50 plus. The downstairs jazz selection was usually a disappointment (initially upstairs, in the last period when Mole operated there). I did see an original Mike Taylor 'Trio' on the wall once at about £300 but the sleeve looked pretty beat up. In retrospect, probably a bargain. Never got to see those 8000+ jazz LPs, although I have seen mention of that legendary story in various places.
