Never realised that he used to run the Rolling Stones - until Loog-Oldham 'nicked' them. Plus ran the Crawdaddy Club in Richmond - very influential. He also 'lost' Clapton. Good obit in today's Times, albeit with not much mention of the jazz connections.

Pit Inn in Shinjuku might be worth checking out for live jazz. A bit of a pig to find though (at least it was for me).
Much bigger name in the theatre over here than films, until more recent times. For sure, one of those people that it was good to see, who was his own person and who will be missed. RIP

I think what we will see is the Chinese ponzi panic significantly affecting those resource base economies which were largely spared the impact of the 2008-9 downturn, particularly where their asset values are concerned.
