  1. At last, a chance to pick up that 'Blue Train' album everyone is talking about...
  2. Peter Purves John Noakes Shep
  3. Spot on...The pigeons are already crapping on my study window, which means it must be Spring !
  4. Happy Birthday David, thanks for all your great broadcast shows.
  5. This thread brings back memories. I remember seeing Don Menza featured with - I'm pretty sure - Woody Herman back in the late 1970s. Ronnie Scott's. In fact he was one of the first tenor players I ever heard on record - on Buddy Rich 'Mercy Mercy Mercy' - Channel 1 Suite.
  6. It's sat in my racks unplayed for years now so many thanks for the reminder ! I saw Teddy live a few years before he passed, very rare club appearance in NYC. Predictably great. The one time I caught him on the West Coast he had his arm in a sling and couldn't play. Still fronted the band though !
  7. Sue Mr Corbett Spike
  8. My Mosaic catalogue has arrived. Always a pleasure to receive it and always a threat to the state of the old wallet..
  9. Remember buying both volumes in hardback on the spot when I saw them many years ago in Toronto. Other than Ian Carr's fine work, there wasn't much published about Miles up to that point. Devoured both volumes in a weekend !
  10. Reminder to self to get the LP12 re-based in recycled vintage single malt whisky barrels..
  11. Have a good one !
  12. Happy Birthday !
  13. Happy Birthday !
  14. Yep, Borders was just opposite the site of the old Foyles and slightly up. Good for jazz books and periodicals. The one in Bournmouth was nice as well - sadly it went under around the same time.
  15. That's a blast from the past. I'd forgotten about that show !
  16. Nice album John. My copy is a US 2-eye, mono, sounds pretty good, haven't noticed any grittiness. This one isn't on the Mosaic Select, of course.
