  6. What the heck is that?
  7. Saw a bit of 'Hell's Kitchen' this week. Quite funny. That brooding Northerner Marco Pierre White makes Ramsay look like a wuss.
  8. 'Pub Crawling With Jimmy Deuchar' (Contemporary DG mono). With Tubby Hayes.
  9. Buddy Epsen Buddy Hackett Richard Simmons Leo Sayer Alan Parsons Edgar Allan Poe
  10. in the open CDR trading is not allowed here, sorry. anyway I don't have what you're looking for. Give it a few months and hopefully Universal UK will legitimately issue this on CD in the 'Impressed' series.
  11. That's a pretty good find. Paid a wee bit more than that for mine.
  12. Another one where the Japanese CD is as elusive as the vinyl. The Japanese Fontana vinyl of this one got snapped up pronto too.
  13. Jelly Roll Morton Brian Morton Pingu the Penguin
  14. Just noticed that the vinyl 'Mike Taylor Remembered' is now for sale on the Trunk site at £10.99. Bought a copy, along with the Trunk CD sampler.
  15. Original Peter was by far my favorite track from the Love Songs album. Probably my favourite from that one too. The jazzman single was the alternate (funkier) single version (coupled with 'Magic Garden') that was not included in the original LP but did make it into last years Vocalion CD reissue as a bonus track.
  16. Bennie Green, CD1. Very nice !
  17. He's done quite a few 7" releases for the DJ market. Harold McNair's 'The Hipster' and Mike Westbrook's 'Original Peter' for example. jazzman records
  18. Damn ! I was looking forward to the week of the 17th Sept.
  19. Damn - this is getting silly. You almost have to buy these on the day that they are issued, otherwise the price rockets up. I wish I'd placed an order with Mr Tanno, seeing as though I've more chance of winning the Lotto jackpot than scoring a decent vinyl.
  20. Sad news - though not entirely unexpected. RIP. Luciano Pavarotti
  21. I've been holding off getting an IPod until I saw what was happening with the new models. The original plan was to go for one of the 80 GB units but hopefully for the same price I can get one of these 160 GB beasties. It will be nice to have a permanent load of all the Mosaic CD sets in my collection. With a bit of luck, the BBC-I player will also allow video download to these things of BBC TV programmes (not currently the case with the beta version of the player but I believe their long-term plans are to implement this). The 160 GB will also allow a fair ammount of stuff from dime too.
  22. Not a bad idea. Its covered in cobwebs.
  23. Thanks. Not on vinyl - but I did watch a Joe Meek documentary on TV which showed old film of the studio and an interview with Adrian Kerridge.
  24. Definite thumbs up so far on this set. Really enjoyed the Garner and Jamal material on disk 1 and the sound is great. Glad I got it.
  25. I would agree with Stereojack. I have all 4 in the black label (or is it dark green?) pressings in stereo with the deep groove. Fairly heavy grade vinyl. They sound great by the way, recommended. I think some of the later 1960s stereo pressings (such as Lasha/Simmons) had deep grooves so these may be mid/late 60s pressings.
