  1. I'm very happy with a Sony DVD/SACD player that has a modified tube output stage done by Decware High Fidelity, but if I could I would get the most expensive CEC model I could, because I've heard a few and think they're absolutely great. I believe there is one in his price range.
  2. Oh I see now. . . okay. . . . I never have attached much significance to "LOA". . .! But PKD would take great solace in it. Right now: PKD Society Newsletter #5, interview with K. D. Jeter. "Voices from the Street" was shipped to me Monday! Whoo hoo! A new previously unpublished PKD mainstream novel!
  3. Thanks! I was reveiwing the portion of the EMI twofer really, haven't yet heard the new domestic cd. But I will!
  4. SAVE UP AND BUY IT NEW FROM MOSAIC. THEY OWN THIS MATERIAL. THIS HAS THE BEST BOOKLET OF ANY MOSAIC SET EVER IN MY OPINION!
  5. Received mine yesterday too. . . got the bonus disc. Spun the first disc here at work. 'Salright!
  6. I'll have to check out that monument. I'm very far away from it and don't make many visits to that part of the world. I'm sure my father has seen that one though!
  7. You know about this, right? Oh yes, but what do I need that for? I have several copies of each of those novels.
  8. Yes, John is right. . . . But I do like this one more and more as time goes by. Guess I'm into another childhood. . . ..
  9. Not Lonson. I'm Lonson at AAJ (that's my real first name, a family name). I guess it was "Lon Armstrong". . . .Hard to remember!
  10. I've had the set for years. . . . I've never seen it used.
  11. Right. I think I saw the track list in 2004 (from Belden, but I was not allowed to distribute) . . . Two years or so before the box appeared.
  12. Hey, I don't disbelieve you, and I haven't seen any European Concord releases etc. BUT the titles on the US blowout sale they said were all "to be deleted" titles. It was a heckuva thing. All those titles. . .I bought too many but I did want to have them, and didn't know how long I would have!
  13. You know the sound will be improved. Wow. I hope it comes out. I have my doubts. But then I would, seeing the email from Belden that I did. But man. . . I want it. I remember that it took about two or three years from when I saw the track listing for the Cellar Door set and when it came out. Hope that doesn't happen this go round.
  14. I was "Lon" at bluenote and jazz central station. When I came here. . . honestly, I had just had a dream about my Uncle Suds and a little cast iron bank he had called "Jazzbo Jimmy" and I on a lark signed on as jazzbo.
  15. No. Following their link there's one in stock at amazon.com US (only ONE) for 11.98.
  16. Flurin, the "blowout sale" they had they represented as getting rid of titles that were going to be deleted. . . there were over 300 from the different labels (Prestige, Riverside, Specialty, etc.) and maybe closer to 400 at the beginning I think. So. . . grab those reasonably priced "Limited Editions" etc. while you can, they may not be about for too much longer (?)
  17. Well, whatever you can find reasonably priced. The Dragon Records series on Gullin is excellent. I find it hard to get these cheaply. . . .ejazzlines.com has excellent service and has the best prices, about 20 dollars with postage, that I've found recently. There are nine volumes, all good. For Wilen, the "New York Romance" (aka "Le Ca"-there's a cedille there I don't know how to make on this keyboard) is pretty easy to find, and I think available on emusic. Again, almost anything you can find is worth hearing; I especially like his later, mature years, seem most Mobley-Jones like to me.
  18. Oh, and get some Jimmy Rowles.
  19. I think you would like two European jazz masters: Barney Wilen and Lars Gullin. You'll find a similar deep grace within their work.
  20. Yeah. It's a good one.
  21. Yes, I'm a Dick Head. It's not an insult!
  22. Troy only ever recordered four sides, two 78s! http://www.redhotjazz.com/shadowland.html http://www.redhotjazz.com/plaza.html
