  1. MANY MORE HAPPY HAPPY ONES!
  2. My price is still 5.99. I even ordered and was charged for items that were 5.99 or multiples last week. . .
  3. The question is: Could Hunter, Garcia, and the rest of the Dead relate to it through personal experience? I bet the answer is yes, they could relate. To me one of the great appeals of Hunter's lyrics is the "unspecificity" of them, which allows listeners to conjure up their own referrences and so be involved in the song. . . .
  4. That's a two cd CONOISSEUR set, not with RVG mastering.
  5. Yes, Brown-Eyed Women. That was one of the songs that got me going in the "Europe '72" phase of my Dead listener history. Really nice imagery that I can relate to from some personal experience! And I love the real folky feel of the B section.
  6. Hmmm. . . I hadn't thought about it quite that way. Okay, I morphed into another of my idols!
  7. Well said all around Bill! No arguments from me. When I started this thread my interest had rekindled. . .and then it took to a hot flame with all the contributors' thoughts and feelings!
  8. Try: Helen Merrill Carmen McRae Betty Carter You might like these jazz singers.
  9. Hope it was a great one Jeff and many many more!
  10. Many more happy ones!
  11. Welcome Virginia. The Roost sides were done in a really nice lp facimile edition by Japanese Blue Note about three years ago or so. . . I have it and am glad I do! It may be still "around" somewhere.
  12. Reading the new copy now!
  13. That's an overview of the entire Pacific Jazz years of Baker. . . has great music but not all of Baker/Mulligan.
  14. I downloaded 88 tracks on Sunday---the Prestige box of Dexter's. Good stuff!
  15. I've got all the lps. . . but they're not in the best of shape. . .and I'm really looking forward to it! Really like the music.
  16. Hi Mike! Thanks for the heads up. Just preordered as well.
  17. No, Lon was at the cancer clinic with his wife first thing this morning, then at his desk NORTH of the Congress Avenue zone in question (about fifteen blocks north) since. So far as far as I can tell no one knows yet why the birds have died.
  18. There was a great four cd set out on Blue Note, now out of print a handful of years, that reissued that material. Had great photos and text! Also there was a two cd Connoisseur that reissued a chunk as well.
  19. Many many more happy happy ones!
  20. Only Vol. 1 seems listed at bluenote.com . . . .
