  1. Don't think so. . . but don't remember specifically. . . been way too long since I saw this. edited for spellin'
  2. I haven't heard this one in years. I always liked it, the best records by the Who I'd ever bought. The movie wasn't bad either.
  3. Weird, I was surprised at how the sound was better than I thought it would be.
  4. I bought the Secret Sessions from eMusic last month, and I'm glad I did!
  5. I recall an episode which totally and unexpectedly brought serious tears to my eyes. It was an episode where JD had a female patient who knew she was going to die yet she had this bright and positive attitude. He asked her what she thought dying was going to be like and she said that she envisioned it something like a Broadway musical with music and song. When it came time and she died, JD's coworkers were consoling him for losing the patient but he was consoled with one of his "head fantasies"where he envisioned the deceased patient being sent off with her singing this wonderful ballad accompanied by other members of the hospital staff. It totally worked on me and I still am moved just thinking about it. The episode where Cox's best friend and brother-in-law (played by Brandon Frasier) returns after a two-year absence (susequent to a 2 episode story arc earlier in the season or in the prior season) was also touching with it's surprise ending. I don't think I started watching this until the 2nd season, but got totally hooked thereafter. I think the incredibly delicate balance between off the wall comedy and the way they dealt with serious issues and relationships at the same time is wonderful. I'm literally buying the show's premise and have the first 4 seasons on DVD and I think they're all great. I don't like what I've seen so far of the 6th season. I think the show is showing some serious slipping. I've seen both those episodes and while I agree that it's interesting how they deal wtih "deeper" content, I never am actually moved by any of the material. I'm too old and jaded maybe. Also I just sort of supsend a lot of my personal involvement in the show emotionally because a good chunk of the humor is so over the top. . . it disconnects me. My favorite character is the janitor.
  6. Yes, overlap is a problem indeed. . . . I'm still trying to hang with the versions of this material I have and am resisting the JSP set(s).
  7. Good God, I couldn't choose between them, both are excellent sets. . . . Money would dictate whether the Capitol could be purchased or not. . . .
  8. Interesting that this is considered a dramedy. I guess it tries to be but I just see mainly hamfisted comedy and I'm never really touched. Not one of my favorites. . . first season was the best.
  9. I've never seen him in the role, but can imagine that he'd make an impression!
  10. yourmusic.com now has the RCA three cd overview set by the way. . . .
  11. We're talking about an lp box set on the Audio Fidelity label released in the eighties I think.
  12. Overall, I've always been a bit disappointed listening to this date. May try it again sometime. . . .

  14. Thanks for pointing out that cduniverse had that as a preorder. I put one in my cart. . .

    verve downsized

Maybe they will. Seems to me as if Mosaic is steadily getting some of it out. Without their own reissue staff, Mosaic licensing may look like easier money, small change, but small change that comes easy.
  16. The label is a "cd only reissue label". . . . Anyway, they have reissued a number of other lps, jazz mainly from Atlantic and subsidiaries that I recall. Their website: http://www.woundedbird.com/
  17. I was lucky. . . I managed to pilfer some of my wife's "prophylactic" antibiotics as soon as I couldn't deny that I had it, and that took care of it in about a week. It was nasty!
  18. Many many more!
  19. Metal Men! Odd. . . would be fun to see but odd to think anyone would get the ball rolliing. Plastic Man would be cool. Indeed. How about a "Blackhawk" movie? That would be cool.
  20. Manymanymany more happy ones!
  21. I'm running iTunes with an external hard drive. . . no problems so far at all.
  22. No, sorry, don't want to watch Eddie. Yeah, animate the mofo.
  23. It's going around the Austin state employment world. I DID catch the respiratory and sinus bug that blitzed through (and somehow managed to keep my wife from catching it) and I'm doing my best to steer clear of this one.
  24. Those 20s tracks have sounded good wherever I've heard them (the ones I've got to spin over and over are King Jazz cds with Davies transfers. They're just that good as far as source goes. I think that JSP could get this done with from four to six box sets depending on the parameters they use to describe "complete". . . .
  25. I'm thinking of blowing my whole month on the Dexter Gordon Prestige box. . . . I have a few of the single releases, and don't want to buy the actual box set. . . .
