  1. It's a little more "hippy" than "funky". . . but I like it.
  2. Thanks, I won't turn it down! I may see it turned into MP3 at speedingarrow though. . .there are precedents.
  3. I'm just not going to make the shn attempt after so much agony I've had in the past with my Macs and I in the attempts. Looks like good stuff indeed!
  4. I hear ya! Was so happy this came out from Japan on cd this year!
  5. Happy Holidays Bill! Awesome! I posted this over at speedingarrow to see if they can magically make some MP3s appear. . .
  6. My brother has had this for years. Not all from the Half Note if I recollect correctly. All the material has been out elsewhere on bootlegs from Black Label etc. Not great sound on the lps or elsewhere.
  7. Definitely check out the Dragon label if you haven't! Great material. I just broke down and ordered (from ejazzlines.com) the Lars Gullin Dragons Vols. 6,7,8 and 9. I have most of this on vinyl but want the Dragon cds.
  8. Understandable. . . though she's really not my type. (I'm a brunette lover). Music is worth having though! I don't know of any immediate US plans.
  9. Boy. . . I definitely don't qualify for anal compulsive! I rarely clean/cleaned lps or styli. . . but. . . I've never really had great playback equipment.
  10. Sounds like I should try reading Vol. 6! I respect that she's ending the series. . . seems sensible.
  11. Damn! Custer (a distant relative) just keeps getting razzed. One fatal error and it seems the end of his career eternally! Still . . . he was more ethical than record companies. . . .
  12. I'll probably pick it up next year.
  13. yeah. . . but the hard ting bout these movies. . . who's going to be able to pull off playing JB? :?
  14. "Captain America against Batroc the Leaper and the Red Skull" Starring Brad Pitt, William Shatner and Arnold Swartzenegger "P'Gell the Femme Fatale," the first full length Spirit movie Starring Angelina Jolie and George Clooney "Thor and Loki's Evil Brigade" Starring Matt Daemon and Gary Oldman (and Tara Reid as "The Enchantress" with a special appearance by Ben Afleck as The Executioner) "Dr. Strange: Dormammu's Return" Starring Hugo Weaving and Danny DeVito (Special appearance by Charlton Heston as Eternity) "Green Lantern vs. Sinestro" Starring Matthew Fox and Kevin Spacey SURELY THERE ARE MORE?
  15. Jim, I've considered it a fair price for clones of Buddy DeFranco Japanese Verve cds that sound better than the lp to cdr discs I have of the lps, clones of Japanese Alice Coltrane cds, clones of Japanese Pharoah Sanders and Archie Shepp cds, etc. The diminishment of quality is not prohibitive to my enjoyment, and the price is just on the top edge of okay.
  16. In typical douchebag Bergian doubletalk I can hardly make sense of what you're trying to say besides the typical insulting anyone who disagrees with you. Get a new act and grow up. I have a great sounding system, listening to it right now, and it sounds good with MP3s too. Get your head out in the air and enjoy the music son. And I'll just ignore your CHILDISH crack about my mom. Pathetic.
  17. A Christmas "album" (2006) by two of my friends, Dave Laczko and Mel Winters, piano and "bass."
  18. "The Pelopenessian War" by Donald Kajan (not his four volume history, but his less scholarly centric single volume work.) Fascinating. Democracies against facism.
  19. Well, new ten dollar cds with bonus tracks and historical liner notes (especially the latter, of any value) are getting harder to find, they're not putting them out with frequency. At least ones I'm interested in. And I do get cover images with most of the MP3s I buy, and can have a little fun designing covers, back covers etc. I DO find that fun. It's part of the appeal. And I tell you. . . I find very few liner notes "compelling reading" any longer. I used to pore over liners. Now I skim. Sometimes ignore completely! So. . . . The 10 dollar downloads I've bought sound good enough that I don't think about "compressed files." I just enjoy the music. I fought the idea a long while, but . . . this is going to be a part of what's ahead of us. . . I bought in.
  20. Does "Horace Silver at the Village Gate" count? Sounds festive!
  21. I heard somewhere that someday the lion will lie down with it. (Not that I'm saying you should have a side dish of lion...) Ah, this just tickled my funny bone really vigorously! Good one Bruce! Glad the dinner was a SUCCESS! We just had a simple but delicious dinner I threw together of ham, baked Yukon gold potatoes, and brocoli spears. Now. . .what's for dessert?
  22. Own lots of dvds now. . . not one Criterion. My man Shawn raves about them though, and he knows whereof he raveth cinematically speaking. Qualiyt. . . costs.
  23. Listened to this one this morning. Was a pleasure! Teef. . . Zawinul. . . ah.
