  1. Thanks for the YouTube link. Another great Catlyst album was by Don Menza
  2. Definitely looks interesting. A shame it's not the Harlem Bush Music edition of the band, though.
  3. I would think the booklet will do a good job of explaining the thinking behind this "Complete" set.
  4. Ordered. This was a very rich period for him and there are enough albums/tracks I don't have to make it worthwhile. The concept is a little like that 1993 4CD box "The Blue Note Years" on BN. Another great collection.
  5. Yes. And more recently in Porcupine Tree.
  6. I saw that show, too! (also Chuck and Randy)
  7. Yes. Interesting. Different than his earlier stuff. Worth checking out. This covers album was good, too
  8. New album from S. London band, Dry Cleaning
  9. Don't know their music, but was lucky to "see" them (they were completely backlit) at the Big Ears Festival in 2018. I'll check out that album .
  10. Maserati "Inventions for the New Season"
  11. Me, too!
  12. Interesting announcement from SFJAZZ and probably the biggest single artist turnover. There are usually only one or two changes per year. Also, the addition of a vocalist is an interesting development. +++ We are excited to announce new members of the award-winning SFJAZZ Collective – saxophonist and Music Director Chris Potter, vocalist Lizz Wright, bassist/vocalist Aneesa Strings, and drummer Kendrick A.D. Scott. This lineup will explore the music of legendary singer/ songwriter Joni Mitchell, who received the 2015 SFJAZZ Lifetime Achievement Award, with a forthcoming studio album set for release in Fall of 2021, followed by touring in the Spring of 2022. Formed in 2004, SFJAZZ Collective lineup will also include returning members — tenor saxophonist David Sánchez, trumpeter Etienne Charles, vibraphonist Warren Wolf, and pianist Edward Simon. Over their fifteen-year existence, the SFJAZZ Collective has included 27 members who have penned 110 original compositions and 115 arrangements. 2021-22 SFJAZZ COLLECTIVE LINEUP Chris Potter music director, tenor & soprano saxophones David Sánchez tenor saxophone Etienne Charles trumpet Warren Wolf vibraphone Edward Simon piano Aneesa Strings bass & vocals Kendrick A.D. 13. A couple of recent alt bands. One from the West Coast and the other from NY.
  14. Looks like a must-have! Especially coming on the heels of The Free Slave.
