The Magnificent Goldberg Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 'Ang on a tick - it's only eighteen quid per LP. And how many LPs have we all got that we paid more for? A bloody lot, I KNOW. MG Quote
Head Man Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 I wonder where the picture of the LP comes from since the box is supposed to be in its original shrink-wrap! Quote
Patrick Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 Winning bidder: ajerant That has got to be a certain frequent poster at the old BNBB. Oldtimers will know whom I'm talking about. He has never been seen on the Organissimo board? I believe Tony was posting here as DrJ, but nothing since summer 2006. Quote
Swinging Swede Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Thanks, I had completely forgotten that connection. Oh well, at least he's still collecting jazz CDs.... Quote
Bluerein Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 (edited) Not only that....how can you show the number inside the booklet if it's sealed? Hoeray for my 800th posting!!!!! Edited January 10, 2008 by Bluerein Quote
Aggie87 Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Any idea with this Miles Davis disc is going for so much? It looks like a boot anyway. Quote

Van Basten II Posted July 13, 2008 Report Posted July 13, 2008 Here's a seller that deserves to be victimized by robbers http://cgi.cafr.ebay.ca/MOSAIC-JAZZ-7-CDs-...1QQcmdZViewItem Quote

Thankfully, last I looked, he hadn't gotten a single bid on any of them. Quote
sidewinder Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 What's up with this? ANITA O'DAY - $620 Magic word 'Atomic Records' Quote
colinmce Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 Yeah, what in the world is going on here? I was thinking about maybe keeping an eye out for the Cecil Taylor Candid box, until I saw it fetch well over 300 on ebay. Just wrong. Even the Giuffre box, which is rather ubiquitous is exploding in price. Disappointing. Quote
mellowT Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 $710 for a sealed Louis Armstrong Mosaic (+ shipping from Australia). Complete Decca Studio Recordings Quote
colinmce Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 There's a Bill Evans 1980 over $500 right now... Quote
colinmce Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 For the record, some sets are available on Amazon in the sub-$200 range. I also just missed out on an $86 Mingus Candid at an online used record shop. Shoulda been quicker. Quote
Brute Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 (edited) FYI, if you want to hear some of these oop sets but not necessarily own them, the library is still free. Edited April 28, 2009 by Brute Quote

Cliff Englewood Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 I saw that a Complete Buddy De Franco/Sonny Clark-MOSAIC 4CD Set went fo nearly $360 including shipping, $90 a disc, ouch. :o Quote
ejp626 Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 See if your library can get them through interlibrary loan if they don't have them locally. Chicago Public Library has a fairly impressive collection of the early Mosaics, though I don't think they have been keeping up. (Fortunately doing much better on the DVD side with Criterion.) However, they are in reference, so no loaning over night, and definitely no loaning to other libraries (I would be very doubtful if any library would do interlibrary loan for OOP items quite frankly). So that means you need a long afternoon to go in to the music reference section and request them to be played over their equipment. It takes a lot of patience. More than I have frankly. Quote

Has "Blue Note" in his moniker and is from Stamford, CT. Wonder if it's the company itself selling some excess stock? (I know, I know, it could be anybody, but who's fortunate to get a single numbered set besides some big wig?) New or mint Buddy De Franco's go for about that much. However, I noticed a brand new LP version went recently for $200 less. Quote
