Don't go higher bitrate CBR. Instead, switch to Q0 (highest quality) VBR. Same sound quality as 320 CBR but with smaller files... not that storage is an issue anymore... but it might be in your car on a thumbdrive.

Fisheye-lens-kind-of-shot to get it all on there (and then compressed to be uploaded at below 100kb ...).

I have nearly all this as well. I'm sure I'm missing a few. I still leave the first 75 or so in the tall cardboard box, though that means accessing them is a hassle. I ripped them all back in the day, but at a low bit rate. One project (I keep postponing) is to rerip at higher bit rate and add in the most critical info in track properties. (I've actually just done this recently for the 2 Vogue boxes, but I need a spare portable hard drive before I get started on Jazz in Paris...)

Is it worse than the Inner Man/Live at Birdland '62?

Nice, though I imagine the walls in that room aren't actually as curvy as they look here.

I wrapped up Schulz and was about to return to Ada, but realized that given it is a bit longer than I expected (350 pages), I had to read Reva's Endling (an interesting novel about snails, mail order brides from Ukraine and the pending Russian invasion) for a book club next week. So I will finish Endling (off to a strong start so far) and then finish Ada for real this time.

Matt's been working on a new website, which at this point is hosting a number of articles and links as a sort of "recent index." My understanding is that he doesn't want it to be a discography (Discogs works well enough for that, for now). It'll be interesting to see how this resource grows. Anyway, for lack of a better place to put it, here goes: https://legacyofmatthewshipp.com/index/ the interview from The Ideas Letter ("A Pure Act in a Dirty World") serves as kind of a biographical primer until a true biography is written. Enjoy!

Immanuel Wilkins has a new release! “Live at the Village Vanguard Vol. 1” Blue Note. I’m listening to the cd. I knew I would like it, I think Wilkins is one of the current leaders I like most.

Owsley Stanley Foundation, which stands behind the legendary Bear Sonic Journal series, announced that have tapes from Miles Davis' performance at the Fillmore West on April 12, 1970 - the gig two days after "Black Beauty" recording. And that they want to release it on CD. Judging from the post and the comments it's not confirmed yet, but, God, I hope it will see the daylight! https://www.facebook.com/OwsleyStanleyFoundation/posts/pfbid02vTTrdYZCNoad3LKPDzdMyNgbxLCnhiqfWF586FMXip5rgyiNxDADE4DDeQ93LUYtl
