Rufus Jones in drums. Bassist was either Victor Gaskin or Joe Benjamin.

That was really good. I don't know who the drum and bass players are but damn. Listening to this set now via the BN Connoisseur CDs, specifically the tracks with Edwin Swanston right now. Looks like he recorded a whole lot more on the piano. His organ playing is good and heavily blues based, at least on these tracks. His write up on discogs makes it sound like he was a good dude.

Semi-Finals picks https://doorfliesopen.com/2025/10/30/cfl-beat-255/ https://pifflespodcast.com/blog/piffles-picks-cfl-semi-finals-2025/ As you can see, I finished third in the Door Flies Open pool, two games out of first, and one behind second. My picks... Alouettes over Blue Bombers - The Als are undefeated with Alexander starting, and I will expect that to continue until it doesn't. Lions over Stampeders - BC is on a six-game winning streak, and has been very impressive throughout it. ***** The league has announced the CFL Awards Finalists https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/30/mitchell-rourke-to-face-off-for-george-reed-mop/ https://www.tsn.ca/cfl/article/rourke-mitchell-named-finalists-for-cfls-most-outstanding-player/ https://3downnation.com/2025/10/30/dual-selections-nathan-rourke-trey-vaval-highlight-cfl-awards-finalists/ https://cflnewshub.com/cfl-news/cfl-awards-nominations-2025-whos-in-the-running/ ***** Teams ranked by injuries suffered. https://3downnation.com/2025/10/30/all-nine-cfl-teams-ranked-by-how-many-injuries-they-suffered-in-2025/ ***** Edmonton free agents https://3downnation.com/2025/10/30/the-edmonton-elks-potential-2026-free-agents-list/ ***** Semi-Finals preview https://cflnewshub.com/cfl-news/calgary-stampeders-vs-bc-lions-season-recap/

A very nice and knowledgeable man, who has seen the performances of practically everybody passing through the town. A loss for the jazz world. R.I.P.

I enjoyed the film. Slow but tense. Great ending. The cinema I saw this at today (Barbican, London) said it had a ‘stress inducing jazz score’! Well, it had me tapping my foot but maybe why three people walked out before the end.

Bob Crosby Mosaic Mentioned on Jazz Messengersghost of miles replied to colinmce's topic in Mosaic and other box sets... Forgot to mention that the presence of Connee Boswell on two tracks on disc 1 was a pleasant surprise! Has there ever been a discussion of putting together a Connee Boswell Mosaic set? (Iirc she pops up on the Bunny Berigan box and the recent V-Disc small group set.)
