I've been listening to Ivo for a few years now & have many of his Leo CDs up till 2011-2012. Looks like he has been unbelievably prolific since then. I've had a hiatus for a few years. I want to pick up a bit more of his material from the yearly Leo "End Of The Century" sale - there is so much to choose from Any recommendations - possibly the Art of Improv Trio & Quartets (6CDs), Perelman-Shipp series vols 1-6 or the recent Efforvescence 4CD box, maybe Live In Brussels Any other fans out there? Updated/more recent Cook/Morton volumes would have been useful buy they are no more!!

I generally pick up (or have done so) all of Dennis Gonzalez's CF releases - love his work His Silkheart releases with Charles Brackeen are highly recommended IMHO as is his Ayler & Daagnim material
-
he has a passing similarity to Tubby Hayes - clip kept reminding me of Tubby

Interested in the two Blackwells plus the Cecil Taylor Ruvo 2009 which looks like a new release? unless it's a redo of Cecil with The Italian Instabile Orchestra at Ruvo (but that was in 2002)

Think I'll stick with my partially censored (and one track deleted) Australian double LP - that'll do But I'm loving the "Hot Rats" box & the three disc redo of "Orchestral Favorites" Some of the Wazoo period material (one of his best eras IMHO) has also been released on various (Zappa/Vault) CDs over the past 10 or 15 years

Yes, I've been accessing this site & been buying these via Dusty Groove as CD Japan is not carrying the later series (they're only selling the first series) Managed to pick up an original UK pressing of the Curson's "Tears for Dolphy" mono LP while I was in Hobart, Tasmania recently - my first Roling LP cover you mean the Cool Music series from 2014 https://www.discogs.com/label/755522-Cool-Music-3

There was an August 2021 release of 4 Marte Roling Freedom LPs (Bley, Tchicai/Shepp, NYC5, Dollar Brand) on the Japanese "Audio Japan" label https://www.discogs.com/label/2263447-Audio-Japan Jazz Messengers & HMV Japan are selling them (not on Dusty Groove's site yet) Wonder if this is a legit label (have only these 4 releases to their name) or is it similar to the "Cool Music" CD releases from 2014

Thanks for the initial pm Alexander Hawkins but it looks like I've sorted out the unknown details - have replied via pm

I'm looking for any details regarding a live Blue Notes Concert recording (possibly sometime in the 70s) I've had for a number of years (in FLAC format) - have no dates, track titles etc Runs for just over 1.5hrs with 7 tracks. Tried searching jazz bootleg databases (including inconstant sol, plosin boot list) without any success Any help would be most appreciated

thanks, interesting read - mainly covers poetry & folk revival recordings but does touch on jazz - Byrd Blows On Beacon Hill, Sun Ra (Transition recordings)

anyone out there with the original 2 LP set? I'm interested to know if any of the 4 included titles (Nommo, Absolutions, Neophilia & The Beehive) had introductions included or was there no dialogue released on that twofer -
Felt a similar "intensity" not that long ago at the Kamasi Washington & Band concert here in Brisbane (2019 IIRC)
-
had it for a few weeks now & the intensity/fire (everyone, not just Woody) has really knocked me out - played it a number of times - not the kind of music that grows on you (for me) but blew me away immediately - so so good!!! A must listen

Hat Hut Ezzthetics (Revisited series) have just released a double CD Joe Harriott set of his two classics "Free Form & Abstract". Wonder if the SQ will be any different from the original UK Redial CD reissues - I was happy with them

RIP Peter - what an amazing life he friended me on facebook a few years back

Odalisque was originally called The Progressive Mr DeFranco when it was first released on the Norgran label then it was subsequently rereleased (on the same label) as the former title then released again under the Verve banner as Odalisque I bought the Japanese CD reissues mentioned above a few years back but still have the Mosaic LP set - keeping it for the previously unreleased version of Between The Devil & The Deep Blue Sea

doesn't look like it - just had a look at my set
