I was in the same situation as you & bought this set in dribs & drabs over 4 years (2001-2014) only missing out on disc 2 where an Organissimo member burnt me a CDr also back in 2014. That same year I also scored a booklet from Mosaic. Normally I would have photocopied this on an A4 scanner (do this for a jazz friend in Sydney, particularly the Mosaic sets). I came a cross an alternate method today ie use a scanner iPhone App ie Adobe Scanner - I've managed effectively to scan the whole booklet as a PDF file - it's 27.9MB - I could send this to you via Dropbox if you like?

RIP Mark - wonderful Turtles harmonies didn't realise he sang on T-Rex's "Bang A Gong" The "Mudshark" dialogue also came to mind

Wonder if anyone has previously mentioned an Ahmed Abdul-Malik set - six original releases on various labels (Riverside, Prestige, New-Jazz, RCA-Victor, Status) - would have been a nice Mosaic Select IMHO. The UK Avid label have 4 of the releases on a twofer CD set. Won't happen now with the demise of Selects. The recent live (Stockholm, club residency over 5 nights) tribute 5CD set "Giant Beauty" by [Ahmed] (yes, the brackets are part of the name) is highly recommended IMHO.

Anyone for Art Clokey proto-Gumby jazz performed by the Mel Powell trio found this The jazz music on Art Clokey's short film Gumbasia was the drum-dominated instrumental "Don-Que-Dee" by The Mel Powell Trio. This 1954 recording by the trio accompanied the claymation film, helping Art Clokey secure the funding needed to produce the first Gumby short.

After the Rain--live versions of "After the Rain" by Coltrane?
romualdo replied to Milestones's topic in Recommendations
from Session Notes, p 683 (Coltrane Reference) Private recording by Alan Sukoenig, who recorded with a portable tape recorder at the club; the tapes are currently in the collection of the Institute of Jazz Studies (IJS), Rutgers, New Jersey. These mono audio recordings are of listenable audio quality; they feature powerful Coltrane solos (particularly his cadenza on "I Want To Talk About You") and deserve to be released through official channels. -
After the Rain--live versions of "After the Rain" by Coltrane?

according to The Coltrane Reference (p683), JC played unaccompanied piano during the intermission - there's a lot of talking in the background of the recording but the piano is very audible - it's a fascinating listen -

A welcome reissue (first on CD though) - earliest recording of Osborne/Tracey duo ('72) - will be a worthy addition to their duo Wigmore Hall concert from '74 (another Cadillac release & given CD Rx back in 2017). Still hoping for the as yet unreleased (CD) 1976 duo concerts (Bracknell) originally released on Ogun as Tandem https://stantraceymikeosborne.bandcamp.com/album/original

Wow!! I thought he passed years ago - was introduced to him in the 70s - what an innings, 97 My fav recording of his was The Masochism Tango, hearing it first via an Australian band "Captain Matchbox" version in the early 70s Also remember seeing his 10" LPs at various friends parents houses in the past from WIKI In 1960, Lehrer essentially retired from touring in the U.S.[2] The same year, he toured Australia and New Zealand, performing a total of 33 concerts to great acclaim[38] and controversy.[49] While in New Zealand, he penned lyrics critical of the All Blacks' upcoming tour of Apartheid-era South Africa and Prime Minister Walter Nash's stance on it.[50][51] Lehrer's tours occurred during a time in which he was, he said, "banned, censored, mentioned in several houses of parliament and threatened with arrest." In particular, "Be Prepared" drew advance resistance in Brisbane from the commissioner of police. He performed several songs in Australia that were still unreleased, including "The Masochism Tango."[31]

An (italian) guide to classic jazz
romualdo replied to 4969's topic in Jazz In Print - Periodicals, Books, Newspapers, etc...
Danilio, are you aware of the massive 5 Volume series published (last year IIRC) in Italian only by Antonio Lanza (italian academic & jazz fan) called "Californian Jazz, 1951-1960" (Italian Publishers only) I convinced an Italian Veterinary colleague here in Brisbane (Australia) to attempt a translation (she was keen to try & completed volume 1) & has had Amazon publish the first volume (english version) - she brought me back the entire (Italian) set on a recent holiday to her home country earlier this year https://www.amazon.com.au/Californian-Jazz-1951-1960-Antonio-Lanza/dp/B0DF2MDYTS/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0 -
