Is Joe Chambers on either of these?
-
Every time there's a nice thread going, Allen Lowe has to come on and ruin it.

There is a volume drop on 'Blue Rondo' on the McMaster as well - I have a McMaster where the tracks were separated correctly. I suspect the 'Blue Rondo' thing is in the tape. Bertrand.

A friend of mine sent me a 40% coupon for books only ending today. But I went there yesterday to get 'Rollin' With Leo', armed with a 25% coupon I had from elsewhere, and the nice guy at the register insisted on giving me 40% off from a coupon he had there which he said was out there for the week-end. So is there a 40% off CDs thing going around as well? I had my eye on a couple of other things... I had not been getting coupons for awhile because I forgot to give them my new e-mail address- duh! Bertrand.

This would be an excellent 3-CD Mosaic Select: Super Nova Odyssey Of Iska Moto Grosso Feio Unissued 10/13/70 But the word on the street is that Wayne does not want that last session released, so that's that. Except I was given some contradictory information when I put together the Appendix to his bio a few years ago, so who knows what the truth is. Bertrand.

Yeah, a google search just confused the crap out of me. I sent an e-mail to customer service - hope I hear back tomorrow. I might also try ordering from a different computer. Maybe it's a subtle hint that I have too many CDs Bertrand.

When I tried to place an order, I got the following message after putting in my credit card info: 'Your order was NOT accepted by the credit card processor Reason: Could not execute curl' Any ideas? Bertrand.

Happy Birthday Michael Weiss!

A belated happy birthday to a wonderful guy and musician. Bertrand. -
'that´s where Dexter made his last studio recording in 1982'. I do not really agree with this statement. There are two further studio recordings: 1) The music from the film 'Round Midnight was recorded in the studio in Paris in July and August of 1985. 2) He recorded two tracks with Tony Bennett in 1987 - these seem to be his last studio recordings. Does anyone know when Dexter last performed live? I'm pretty sure he was at Blues Alley in D.C. in the mid-eighties. Sounds like a topic for the new Dexter forum! Bertrand.

1) Dewey appears on the tracks 'Doo-Bop', 'Oasis' and 'Caribe' on Tom Harrell's 1997 album 'The Art Of Rhythm'. For those who have this CD, Dewey does not appear on the other tracks, correct? 2) He also appears on a CD by John Ballantyne (not familiar with him). Which tracks does Dewey appear on? Thanks, Bertrand.

Wonderful news! Bertrand.

Can someone correct the typo in the thread title please? It should say 'Booby' not 'Bobby'

'We also learn that Morgan was legally married once to Kiko Morgan and now we know who is probably getting his royalty checks'. McMillan's book is indeed excellent, but that particular item is hardly new information - I've known this for 15 years. He and Kiko split up but never divorced, so indeed she is the legal heir. Helen More/Morgan is often referred to as Lee's common-law wife, but that is just plain wrong. It is a misunderstanding Lee did nothing to correct and may have had a part in propagating. In particular, Jimmy had Lee's copies of his own records, and they had 'property of Lee and Helen Morgan' written on the jackets. Bertrand.

I wonder if the mistake in separating tracks on One Step Beyond will be corrected for this edition. Was it corrected in the Moncur Mosaic? Bertrand.

They need to reissue the complete Mobley sessions, dammit! Bertrand.

He is in the second edition. Don't know about the first. Bertrand.

Always good to remember Long Tall Dexter and Woody Shaw - they left this world a far better place with their wonderful music. Bertrand.

A copyright deposit for 'A.S.I.A.' exists at the Library of Congress in the Gigi Gryce collection that I put together. Someone would need to talk to Don Sickler about getting it performed, as he is the publisher. Bertrand.

Chuck is alluding to a discussion on a thread regarding Gil Melle CDRs that were available on Amazon. Did we ever establish that this was sanctioned by Blue Note? Bertrand.

How is the Cecil McBee CD? Bertrand.

Chuck is right and it is very depressing. Bertrand.

'So I think it should be clear now that Ted Efantis didn't play with Fielding' Not at all - you've proven nothing. Ted told me he's on the record, Bonnie (who knew them both) has stated in this very thread that it is Ted, and your only evidence is the liner notes on a Spanish bootleg? Bertrand.
-
It looks like free shipping for 2+ CDs - nice offer. How long is this going on? I need to order some stuff. I can't recommend the latest Ben Allison CD enough. I love that record. Bertrand.
-
Also, Ted remembers that Leroy Vinegar is on some of this session, not just P.C. This needs to be independently verified, of course. Bertrand.
-
This is how discographical errors get propagated and copied as if they were gospel into such alleged 'definitive' reference sources as Lord's discography. Ted Efantis is a real person and plays every Friday at Columbia Station in D.C. with Butch Warren. He used to date Miss Fielding, and is on the recording in question, which both he and Bonnie have confirmed. There is no logical reason to dispute this claim. Bertrand.
