  1. I'd disagree with you there. I really enjoy ALL the Cadets. MG MG is right. Signifyin' (e.g.) is really good.
  2. As usual, Sal is correct.
  3. Like Henry Grimes. Remember the old Verve Trio / Brass album? BTW, I'm seeing Rollins as part of the New Mexico Jazz Festival on July 29. Keeping my fingers crossed.
  4. Brewers really struggling - BUT still 5 1/2 games ahead in their (admittedly) weak division.
  5. The Jarrett (which I have) often goes for over $100.
  6. What - you don't think that's high enough? Seriously, I have that box & wouldn't sell it for less than that. At this point don't want to sell it at all.
  7. Good one!!

    Anthony Braxton

I'm finishing up the second disc right now, but believe me, Coventry and Birmingham are getting added to my list tonight! They're all great. For some reason Birmingham is my favorite.
  9. Damn right!! That Jones / Lovano duo CD is great (IMHO).
  10. I used to feel that way. For some inexplicable reason, I don't feel that way currently. I really enjoy the Mosaic. I also recently picked up a Japanese reissue of The Hard Swing which smokes. Ammons / Stitt CDs do it for me too.
  11. I like those too. Groovin' Blues is my favorite.
  12. Good going felser. I love that set.
  13. Wonder what happened to the Shepp / Roach duets reissue.
  14. Right you are. Lots of fugues, if you will, in the MJQ's work. I mean that in a good way.
  15. Ornette Coleman Lacy / Rudd
  16. Anyone who wants to get rid of their "needle drop" CD, let me know.
  17. Chu Berry Mosaic Mingus Cornell 1964 when it comes out.
  18. Michael Chabon incorporates eruv into his new novel, The Yiddish Policemen's Union. There's even a boundary maven. Great book BTW.
  19. I like There Goes The Neighborhood on Candid.
  20. I was there for my first live Roscoe. Great show! Yes it was. I got to talk to all 4 of them, & they signed my Rogue Art CDs.
  21. Brewers in a slump.
  22. The Phil Woods Quintet one is nice too (IMHO).
  23. Roscoe Mitchell Quartet tomorrow night (with Corey Wilkes, Harrison Bankhead, Vincent Davis)
