  1. Downloaded the bonus flac files. Sound skips. So I will try again....
  2. It was in September. Plus, at least for Virginia residents, they tax your purchases.
  3. If it were cheaper, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I love his interpretations. They have character and passion, which I find lacking in a lot of other conductors efforts.
  4. I'd love to hear these, but I am afraid I am pretty much done with rebuying and upgrading. There's too much other music that demands one's attention.
  5. Music Hall http://www.audioadvisor.com/Music-Hall-A153-Integrated-Amp/productinfo/MHA153/#.UoT4iRjvqyM NAD http://www.audioadvisor.com/NAD-C-316BEE-Integrated-Amplifier/productinfo/NAC316BEE/#.UoT4phjvqyM Cambridge Audio http://www.audioadvisor.com/Cambridge-Audio-Topaz-AM10-Integrated-Amp/productinfo/CATOAM10/#.UoT4tBjvqyM You could also visit www.audiogon.com and look at what is on sale. Part classifieds, part auctions, part dealer clearances, it is well worth checking out.
  6. Sorry, I have not heard the preamp. I only have the CD player, and it is a heavy and solidly built machine. The remote is heavy as well. I would scour the audio forums on Emotiva; they get a lot of positive reviews, and then there will be a product that generates a lot of bad press. For instance, the second version of the CD player has been known to catch fire. It was discontinued. But that seems to be the exception, and I think there is a lot of bias against Emotiva because the parts are built in China then assembled here in Tennessee. Irrational reasoning , I think, if not racist. They guarantee their products and there is a trial period so one can return if not satisfied. I have heard nothing but good things regarding their preamps and amps.
  7. The Jazz Loft sale is a mystery. They will not refill stock, but I can't tell if it is just the dvds or the entire store. Plus, there is no formal announcement on the website or the email I had received.
  8. Don't need them. Either one.
  9. Sent a few PMs.
  10. Got mine this evening. The music is great, and the sound is fantastic. Well done!
  11. Two artists: Cal Tjader and Chico Hamilton.
  12. :tup :tup
  13. You should also look at Emotiva, based in Tennessee. I have their cd player, which is fantastic, and they have had excellent reviews of their amps, which has a lot of quality for the price. http://www.emotiva.com/
  14. ???? Been there many times, and they have always been good to me as a customer. It's great but I'd go for solo albums like Domestic & Public Pieces (Quark/Emanem), Lot 74 (Incus) or Improvisations (Cramps) to get you started. Not to mention Ballads & Standards on Tzadik, which are lovely. As far as group music is concerned, I'm personally a big fan of the early edition of Iskra 1903. I forgot, I do have some early Islra 1903.
  15. Whether they have it or not, I'm going to DMG.
  16. They may not have inputed the info. Who knows? There will be other things to catch my attention (and wallet)......
  17. When I'm up in NYC tomorrow I'll look for it (a trip to Downtown Music Gallery is mandatory).
  18. Need to know your price point. You can go to www.audioadvisor.com and check out what's available. They generally stock quality equipment for those looking for thing better than what's in the box stores.
  19. Is this the one Derek Bailey album to own? I don't have any of his stuff.
