  1. Sad news hearing that. His recordings made me hear ALL music in a different way. Another plug for his book here. I may have to re-read it soon...
  2. In no order: Peter Brötzmann / Nasheet Waits duo Ornette Coleman Quartet Evan Parker Mötorhead Soundtrack of Our Lives NOT the Dave Matthew Band
  3. Deep sounds here.
  4. Satchidananda is one of my top 10 favorites ever. That music seems like it is so ancient, so eternal.
  5. Listening to this at work today. This is some heavy stuff! Love it!
  6. D'oh! Here's the TOCJ24 for $13.79 plus US shipping: Willette Sweet!
  7. Haven't Jim Hall's most recent new releases been on Telarc? And when do you stop being an independent and transition into indie-gobbling corporate megalith?
  8. Same here!
  9. And while you are across the lake, why not make it over to the Twin Cities? The Dakota Rossi's Blue Star Room Artist's Quarter

  15. I watched the trailer online last night -- looks like one I can't miss.
  16. Do you mean the Ford Fairmont Futura? We had a red one when I was growing up. It was pretty sweet.
  17. I get this stuff from Wisconsin - a Polish name with lots of Y's and Z's, I can't quite recall it now. Switched from store-bought sugar water to that because that stuff is crammed full of high-fructose corn syrup. Bad news. And, it tastes better! I find it much...cleaner?... on the palate than the sugar water. I dunno, I now find it too...syrupy.
  18. How very true. They are as individual as people. Sorry to hear about the loss.
  19. Yeah, check how much those closed for... Why is Parker selling his sweet record collection?
  20. Eno - Music for Airports
  21. Love those full, fat tones of the Les Paul and the SG. What was Jerry playing at the fillmore concerts that produced much of Live/Dead [and subsequent releases?]
  22. Jerry and the Les Paul... sweet sounds there...
