  1. Details here: https://www.vinylmeplease.com/products/the-story-of-impulse-records?variant=39416224907354 I suppose ... if you are a collector of these things. Nothing here that interests me or otherwise don't have. A vast catalog and hard to select eight albums and for sure, they did not select a bunch of obvious war-horse titles. But still, what coulda been ...
  2. I don't disagree with you re: the Blue Note albums. Burrell Verve would be interesting - not sure whether they have done much with Verve or have access. I decided I am a pass on the Clark. I have the key albums. Other things to spend money on ...
  3. Maybe Kenny Burrell? It seems there are some odds and ends that are trickier to find. Something of an interesting catalog - the first two kind of stand together, then the two jam sessions, the live album, Midnight Blue and the odds/ends. I might be a buyer, I love his tone and most of those albums have grown on me over the years. Maybe a collection of "one album" Blue Note artists, although I am too lazy to compile a roster. Probably a little gimmicky for the Mosaic folks. Those Selects filled so many gaps!
  4. Also on the fence, but you sure get a lot for $99. I am sure I would enjoy the booklet. I find it interesting to contrast the cost of great sounding CDs ($99 for the whole set) versus ~ $40 for the just issued Sonny Clark Trio on vinyl. And yes, the vinyl sounds great too and you get the full-sIze artwork. Without an endless supply of cash or time, just makes for some interesting choices. Still, an amazing golden period for jazz fans versus when I got started in the early 80s, not sure if there was ANY Sonny Clark in print.
  5. Sent $22 at the end of May but have not heard anything. It was via Venmo, I wasn’t sure how they pass on my address to Jim, but figured he would write back if there was a problem. Not too concerned.
  6. Oooh, I have not - love the series but have not seen that one - thanks for the recommendation. I know what you mean about the relationship between the two albums - not to dismiss "Stop ..." but greatly prefer Name ..." My first exposure to the Heads was buying "Fear ..." on cassette when I was in high school. Then bought "Remain ..." my freshman year and played it to death, still have that record (I am now 61). I love the way those songs sound on "Name ..." as well as the side 1/2 earlier cuts. Love both versions of "Drugs".
  7. Incredible!!! Bought the vinyl back in college and love the expanded CD.
  8. That was not chump change in the late 60s!

Thanks for this - the clips sound interesting! The cover art is pretty cool too. I notice the label is in Hawaii 😀
  16. Interesting tidbit - both Davis and Jones are from Kansas City and attended the University of Kansas (my alma mater). Same for Bobby Watson on both counts.
  17. I bought directly from the Superior Viaduct website, fast shipping, albeit to the US. Nice quiet vinyl BTW.
  18. Just bought the vinyl reissue on Superior Viaduct. Wow - what a wonderful album!
  19. I really enjoy this guy's music, so glad I discovered him!
  20. Not necessarily stoned, but beautiful...
  21. LOL The final frontier for vinyl reissue authenticity!
  22. Edit: Typo on my part, meant to say you “may” want to. I encourage you to read his Facebook page. Leave it at that.
  23. You want to share this info with whoever steered you wrong. And look at the Facebook page. They have pictures of the Passing Ships tape boxes. https://www.discogs.com/release/23315750-Erich-Kleinschuster-6tet-Clifford-Jordan-Charles-Tolliver-ORF-1968-69
