  1. Interesting tidbit - both Davis and Jones are from Kansas City and attended the University of Kansas (my alma mater). Same for Bobby Watson on both counts.
  2. I bought directly from the Superior Viaduct website, fast shipping, albeit to the US. Nice quiet vinyl BTW.
  3. Just bought the vinyl reissue on Superior Viaduct. Wow - what a wonderful album!
  4. I really enjoy this guy's music, so glad I discovered him!
  5. Not necessarily stoned, but beautiful...
  6. LOL The final frontier for vinyl reissue authenticity!
  7. Edit: Typo on my part, meant to say you “may” want to. I encourage you to read his Facebook page. Leave it at that.
  8. You want to share this info with whoever steered you wrong. And look at the Facebook page. They have pictures of the Passing Ships tape boxes. https://www.discogs.com/release/23315750-Erich-Kleinschuster-6tet-Clifford-Jordan-Charles-Tolliver-ORF-1968-69
  9. What causes you concern about their legitimacy? They did a beautiful version of I Don’t Care Who Knows It by Duke Pearson and were all set to reissue Passing Ships on vinyl until Blue Note decided to make it a Tone Poet. Wallen Bink even had three separate jackets produced for the cover art, which were quite cool. They have also released various MPS cuts as cool singles. I own several of these, the Duke Pearson and the three lps referred to above. They all strike me as real labor of love products. All the details on the Pearson issue: https://www.discogs.com/release/12924662-Duke-Pearson-I-Dont-Care-Who-Knows-It Go to their Facebook page to see the alternative covers for the Hill record.
  10. Scroll down a little. I think this is it. https://wallenbink.com Interestingly, if you go to the Wallen Bink Facebook page, he has a post on the Jordan album!
  11. Goodness, why would any sit on that?
  12. Doesn’t sound like a jazz album to me - almost more like kid’s music.
  13. Maybe 15 years ago I was driving home from work, pretty late and flipped on the local classic rock radio station (The Fox, Rooster). It was mid-guitar solo for that song and totally blew my mind. WTF is this. so cool! Oh yeah ... 😄
  14. Thanks - made a modest contribution.
  15. The NPR story has a sound clip - sound quality seems pretty decent. Tapes were discovered by a Bob Dylan archivist at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. Wish I could copy the link. They have a pic of the album cover which to me looks freaky cool. This is an 80 minute recording. Edit: here we go:
  16. Interesting they also have a Motorhead set for sale. How is that a BMG product???
  17. Cool cover over at Spotify. I wonder how Mosaic missed this?
  18. I wonder whether this is one of these online only releases where the notes are only available via pdf? Answering my own question - no, physical product: https://www.montreuxjazzshop.com/en/boutique/music/vinyls/mccoy-tyner-the-montreux-years-cd/
  19. Well we are in disagreement here, but I apologize for taking us off topic. Enjoy Boston and give us a first-hand report of your experiences at Stereo Jacks!
  20. ??? Smoking weed at 7:00 am is an addiction problem.
  21. Oh that’s a good one!! Dig that album. I’m glad all his Columbia stuff is available on CD!
  22. That may have been my first Monk album ~ 40 years ago, so always had a soft spot for it.
