  1. Curious to hear this -- the band is quite odd.
  2. L'étau is awesome indeed!
  3. I haven't heard Rip-Off but it looks good; the previous couple of ensemble records are excellent.
  4. That Kenji Mori record is really good.
  5. Mujician were awesome.
  6. I recall listening to an interview with him and he seemed like the nicest guy imaginable; always hoped I'd get the chance to hear &/or interview him someday myself but it was not to be. Fucking sucks.
  7. original pressing copies of that are very, very difficult to find. Beautiful album!
  8. Yeah, indeed, an amazing legacy... only wish I had had the chance to see him perform!
  9. Gutted to learn that Keith Tippett, English pianist and one of the music's leading lights, has passed at age 72. This has been confirmed by Moonjune Records as well as his wife Julie Tippetts (née Driscoll) via social media. What a goddamn year.
  10. Really great interview; gonna have to revisit it several times to digest it.
  11. yeah, I don't even have enough room for any more boxed sets, but this seems essential. The other Japanese Verve set I have, the Bird one, is dead silent indeed.
  12. almost grabbed that (Japanese version) earlier this year from a local shop, and am kicking myself that I didn't. Maybe it'll still be there when they reopen this fall.
  13. ordered mine yesterday and got a shipping notice today; looking forward to it.
  14. Haha, I haven't seen Bucket of Blood in a long time. Corman was... something. Only Horn I have is Something Blue, a fabulous album indeed.
  15. Anybody ever read this? https://ummpstore.com/products/sparnaay-the-bass-clarinet-a-personal-history
  16. never encountered that particular SABA release; will have to keep an eye out for it.
  17. Cleaver is excellent. I don't really rate people on polls, but he's up there.
  18. "If you think Minneapolis will turn into Mogadishu and that is far from you, it’s coming." uh, dude is maybe a bit racist...
  19. Great record; first and only copy I've ever had is a Japanese King stereo pressing bought in the early aughts...
  20. I guess that's the only one I really know, chiefly because it was in the movie Beverly Hills Cop, which I had on VHS as a kid in the 80s and must've watched about 500 times.
