  3. Sorry for interrupting the partee, but while you all are grabbing all the good stuff, Concord & Tower have organised a nice little contest...
  4. I've been meaning to make it back to Malaysia some day. Cover my airfare and I'll pick up the cost of the CDs. Sounds like a fair deal to me. I'll contact you if I decide to order ~148 titles from the sale list.
  5. Arrgh - no international shipping. Looks like I gotta trouble some relatives over at the U.S.
  6. TowerRecords.Com is having a sale - use coupon code 86CNRZEZP879 to get a 20% discount. I applied the coupon to the Freshmen box available (should be a numbered edition) and it seems to work. I didn't press the order button though.

    Rhoda Scott

I have "Summertime" and "Take five". They're both excellent compilations. The former is about half of a three volume set on Barclay called "Ballades" - imagine a triple album of ballads - who else could carry it off? And no guitarist! I need more Rhoda. MG Thanks much! These are all in the wish list. Oh and I think she has a beautiful voice.

Another release: "This release includes the hot recordings made for the Edison Company by Joe Herlihy's Orchestra, the Piccadilly Players, and Mal Hallett" Dorsey Brothers Vol.4 "The final volume of our series on the Dorsey Brothers' early recordings, this compilation includes Jimmy Dorsey's solo recordings made in London in 1930, as well as rare sides by the Dorsey Brothers' Orchestra from 1934. Featured musicians, aside from the Dorseys, include Bunny Berigan and Glenn Miller. "

UP, plus The tribute to Andy Razaf is back in print... ~Don't know if it's comparable to the early 90s CD issue, but I'm grabbing this one.

  15. E-mailed Mosaic a few suggestions for vocalists' sets some months back: 1. Alberta Hunter 70s/80s Columbia - four albums, one of which is on CD I believe; 2. Ethel Waters Columbia (maybe a selection of the best for a Select?). Some Duke albums(?) listed on AMG which I haven't seen on CD or were reissued long ago: 1. The Girl's Suite and Perfume Suite 2. Three Suites 3. Duke At The Bal Masque 4. Jazz At The Plaza V.2
