  1. Thanks. Interesting assortment of musicians across those albums. Don't know why I didn't order it earlier.
  2. OK, I just ordered Clifford Jordan. If I get it ... GREAT! If not ... at least I tried.
  3. Regardless of the "back order" reason, I'm still hesitant to place an order for one considering their tenuous financial situation.
  4. I'll have to get that one of these days. FYI, there's a better price here: importCDs
  5. The three to five disk sets and Selects were definitely much easier on the wallet. I have been much more selective about which sets I buy in the last few years. I would love to get the Beehive box, but just can't justify it, unfortunately.
  6. I recently ordered the Woody Shaw Muse set and am looking forward to it. I have a few of the original albums on vinyl, but my records are in storage and I don't play them anymore. Would like to get the Clifford Jordan set too, but it's currently on "back-order." I doubt that it will be available again. [DISCLAIMER: I said virtually the same thing in the old, deleted thread]
  7. Just ordered Woody. Looking forward to it.
  8. Definitely getting the Shaw box. I have a few of the originals on LP (in storage), but don't play records anymore. I was hoping to get The Complete Clifford Jordan Strata-East Sessions at some point, but it's "back ordered." I wonder if it will ever come back at this point.
  9. Anyone know why the audio clips on the website don't work? Whenever I click on one, it tries to download an "asx" file.
  10. AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!! [wait................WHAT??...........you're moving outta Texas? No WAY!]
  11. One of my favorite box sets. A truly inspired collection.
  12. Enjoy! It's a good show. One of the best lineups of the collective, IMHO.
  13. Saw Hermeto Pascoal last night. Quite the entertainer! And at 80 years old, he's an amazing bundle of energy. A very talented group of musicians around him, too. Glad I finally got a chance to see him after all these years.
  14. I definitely need to spend more time with that set!
  15. I've heard that all the venues are in walking distance around the downtown area.
  16. Next year is looking more and more like a real possibility. Down Beat had a nice overview of the week: Big Ears Festival Embraces Jazz Experimentalism
  17. Woody Shaw Muse Sessions or maybe wait for the Clifford Jordan Strata-East Sessions to come back in print.
  18. I've been hearing great things - both the performances and the venues. Nice review in RS, too: Big Ears 2017: Where Jeff Tweedy Is Noise Star, Symphony Plays on Floor
  19. R.I.P. Arthur
  20. Anyone at (or ever been to) this festival? It's one of the more interesting lineups I've seen anywhere. A wide variety of music centered in downtown Knoxville, TN. I'm seriously thinking of going next year. Big Ears
