Jim Alfredson
huh? was that Quentin Warren a real album? That was funny. Jimmy Smith relagated to sideman. You should've named the record, "Jimmy ain't shit!" by Quentin Warren.

WD45
Thanks! The picture is from the tray photo of Jimmy Smith's Rockin' the Boat RVG. I just put my copy of Photoshop on my new computer. I forgot to transfer all of my nifty fonts when I switched to my new machine. I've got to go find some of those freeware font sites now... Late
OK, WD45 just gave me an idea ... Who wants to take a stab at James Spaulding's Blue Note album? (Title and sidemen up to your own imagination!)
bertrand
Joe Chambers also was supposed to do a session. Alfred Lion approached, him but Joe was too 'spaced out' to follow through (this from an interview with Modern Drummer around the time Mirrors came out). I think this non-existant session should include Wayne Shorter, Jackie McLean and Bobby Hutcherson. Bertrand. Rooster_Ties
I always enjoy stumbling on this thread, usually when I'm searching for something else. Up, yet again, for old time's sake...

(BB)
My lp copy of this has one of those nearly generic Jazztone covers, although as bad as those covers were I love that Jazztone logo.

clifford_thornton
You know, Lion did approach Spaulding to do one, but apparently they wanted something a little more boogaloo-oriented, which wasn't so much what Spaulding wanted to do for his own date. Food for thought.
