  1. Agreed. I've always operated with the assumption that they are legit and the artists and their estates are getting their fair share. Why don't you read up on the site first. About Us
  2. Anybody got any new ordering info about the upcoming sets??? E.g., distributor, online site?
  3. Got the same email... It's perfectly fine with me... Looking forward to it.
  4. I just looked at it... and I can't download it either. Unfortunately I cannot download it - there is no download function on the page Have emailed them - wait & see (currently a WVIP member) Anyone else been able to download this?
  5. Don't know if I'll renew.. Seems like they've been very slow to add jazz stuff....
  6. I totally concur on Anita.... That's one of the things that made her hip to me... I can imagine in her day how much she got hit on...
  7. I'm going to have to check out that Dave Douglas box... Now if we can get a Lovano box I'd be even happier.
  8. To me.. among other things he was an integral member of Quartet West. (IMHO one the best bands ever.)
  9. Chris Potter is awesome. I've got the new CD... Only had a chance to listen to it once but sounded good.... I'm going to catch this band at Newport in a few weeks... Definitely go...!
  10. Totally agree... and I'd also give another to Peter Bernstein.
  11. I've always liked their stuff.... Highly recommend Opus 5... http://www.crisscrossjazz.com/album/1339.html They've got a new one coming out later this year.
  12. I thought there was a rumor that Mosaic was going to release some JATP?
  13. Is it me or is anyone else with a Mac having a hard time playing the Mingus samples?????
  14. I'm there. Managed to catch Pat at Birdland a few months ago. Still one of the greats.
  15. This is a Mosaic?? I wasn't clear based on the original report.
  16. The really sad part is she actually does have talent... It really has been a disaster to watch her career unfold when she was very different at the beginning. Despite the stupid cd cover, I'm really hoping this new record is artistically better than the strings crap she's been putting out over the last few years.
  17. What do you guys think??? http://www.popmarket.com/stanley-clarke-the-complete-1970s-epic-albums-collection/details/26618977 I'm intrigued since I'm hooked on RTF's new Live CD... Only $34 over @ importcds.com
  18. That's been the main problem with her... I saw her live several times in the late 90's before she became popular. She was shy, played a LOT more piano and was a MUCH better musician. It's these friggin' marketing people that messed her up IMHO. I do think the available cut from this upcoming CD seems promising. She got WAY too interested in being popular. I thought her marriage to Elvis Costello might move her to regain some artistic sensibilities.
  19. George Wein's put together another good lineup... Anyone going other than me..?) http://newportjazzfest.net/index.php?pID=31
  20. Just preordered. I had the bootleg CD (which I can happily get rid of now). This one was a quick pleasant surprise.
  21. Just got finished listening to the Cannnonball Jazzhaus release and it's great. Looking forward to the Dizzy and maybe the Sims... http://arthaus-musik.com/wp-index.php/
  22. It's been out there for a long time. Hopefully everyone who wanted it got it...
  23. The scientology stuff doesn't bother me. I know that's Chick's thing. The addition of Ponty really is a kicker for me. I've listened to the thing 2 or 3 times now (which I NEVER do with a new release). The music is clearly a lot of fun. I completely agree that the live CD is the way to go.
  24. You are right.. it's fantastic. I'm really hoping that they release a Bluray of a full concert....
  25. In transit from importcds... I'm looking forward to this one.. perhaps not as much as I'm digging the new Return to Forever set....
